On “Coming Together as One”

Last weekend was a reminder of the horrors of 9/11 and the mood of the country in the days that followed.  The media’s overriding theme was that “we all came together as one” following those shocking terrorist attacks.

Their assessment, however, was at odds with my own recollection of 9/11.  What sticks in my mind most vividly is how quickly the Radical Left forgot about the nearly 3,000 people who died in the Twin Towers and almost immediately began focusing on silencing “Islamophobic speech.”

Rather than “coming together as one,” the Radical Left seemed determined not to let the 9/11 crisis go to waste.  When George W. Bush went after Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, Radical Leftists attacked him as a Nazi and brayed on and on about the United States being an irredeemably racist nation with systemic racism entrenched in its founding documents.

By 2008, the Radical Left was emboldened to ramp up its strategy to cut America down to size by pitting citizens against one another.  This led to the election of the only anti-American president in U.S. history, an angry, unaccomplished junior senator who derided the idea of American exceptionalism and apologized to the world for America’s faults, all while praising nations that brutalized their own citizens, of course.

Throughout his campaign, Barack Obama wisely separated himself from his relationships with American haters like Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, and Bill Ayers, confident that a fawning leftwing press would not dare to vet him.  But before running for president, Obama wore his true feelings on his shirtsleeves, such as when he described the Muslim call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”

While Obama succeeded in irreversibly dividing Americans with his hateful rhetoric, the blowback from patriotic Americans in the 2010 midterms was a shock to the Radical Left.  As freedom-loving Americans became evermore angry, they provided a juicy target for Democrat projectionists who to this day paint them as “domestic terrorists” while ignoring radical-left mobs who burn and plunder cities with impunity.

What can you possibly have in common with people who believe that “climate change” is an “existential threat” to the survival of mankind, notwithstanding mountains of evidence to the contrary?  What can you possibly have in common with people who believe that killing babies is good for women’s health?  What can you possibly have in common with people who are outraged over the idea of economically disadvantaged families being given the opportunity to choose where their children go to school?  What can you possibly have in common with people who insist that America, the least-racist nation in the world, is somehow systemically racist?

Sorry, folks, but statements like “What we have in common is greater than our differences” are simply not true.  People who believe in liberty, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the obvious superiority of Western civilization have absolutely nothing in common with today’s crazed, totalitarian leftists.

I can deal with ignorance; I can deal with naiveté; but I cannot deal with the psychotic malevolence of the Radical Left.  Which is why I tune out people when they start to blather platitudes like “What we have in common is greater than our differences” and “We have to all come together as one.”

Like it or not (and I don’t), we are a hopelessly divided nation, because those who want to destroy America and establish a leftwing dictatorship will never accept liberty as a way of life.  The prerequisite for dealing with demonic lunatics like this is to understand that they do not care about the law, the Constitution, or the Supreme Court.  Even worse, they are totally devoid of a civilized code of conduct.  Good is that which gives them more power.  Bad is that which threatens to decrease their power.  Period.  There are no exceptions to this.

Thus, no matter the subject, the focus of the Radical Leftist is always on how it can be used to increase his power.  Whether it’s a pandemic that kills millions of people worldwide, children being slaughtered in Chicago day in and day out, or border chaos that invites human trafficking, child prostitution, drugs, and criminal aliens into the country, the Radical Leftist is solely focused on how he can exploit it to increase his power.

In addition, totalitarian Democrats are well aware of the fact that they can ignore laws, the Constitution, and even Supreme Court rulings without fear of consequences.  DACA illegal?  No problem, do it anyway.  Supreme Court ruling that a national rent moratorium cannot be extended.  No problem, do it anyway.  Mandating vaccinations unconstitutional?   No problem, do it anyway.  Changing voting laws without legislative approval?  No problem, do it anyway.  Unlawful to impeach a president after he leaves office?  No problem, do it anyway.

Everyone seems convinced that Republicans will take back the House and Senate in 2022, but no one is addressing an equally important question:  What will Republicans actually do if they are once again handed power?

What the GOP needs are congressmen and women who are committed to being confrontational and laser focused on criminally prosecuting Democrats who have broken the law.  Every Republican running for Congress should be obligated to pledge that he will not allow Democrats to “move on” from the disasters they have left in their wake.

So long as Republican voters ignorantly elect swamp rats to represent them, Democrats will continue to implement their unconstitutional policies and break the law without fear of being held accountable.  When a Republican running for office starts talking about coming together with Democrats, beware.  He is letting voters know that he has no intention of confronting the lawbreaking Democrats in Washington.

Let’s face it, the real insurrectionists are the totalitarian psychotics on the Radical Left.  I have nothing in common with them, and I suspect that virtually all Americans who genuinely cherish the sanctity of liberty feel the same way.  To borrow a thought from a senile, lifetime grifter, my patience is wearing thin.

How about yours?
