The Dirty Dem Fantasy that Never Dies
Posted on July 6, 2017 by Robert Ringer
The pundits and politicians keep telling us that Donald Trump’s tweets are “beneath the dignity of the president’s office.” Funny, but I didn’t even realize that an office could have dignity — especially one that was home to such scoundrels as Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, and Richard Nixon.
Many, in addition to Mad Maxine, believe that tweets like the one with a video of Trump pummeling a fictitious CNN reporter clearly demonstrate that he is mentally unstable. And he might well be. But when you get right down to it, aren’t we all a little mentally unstable? Why else would we watch, and often revel in, the political garbage and childish tripe that floods our airwaves?
In any event, Trump’s takedown of a fictitious CNN reporter was more than the Radical Left could bear. Never mind that his hilarious tweet wasn’t a fraction as violent as Shakespeare in the Park, an artistic masterpiece in which Trump was stabbed and beaten to death. The Dirty Dems’ feigned concern for the safety of media folks has them foaming at the mouth and calling for Trump’s removal from office on the grounds that he is mentally unfit to serve.
But even with Trump’s generous helping hand, the Dirty Dems continue to be even worse at controlling their emotions than he is. I don’t know whether it’s a genuine mental disorder or just pure hatred, but they seem intent on continuing their self-destructive antics no matter how many elections they lose.
Message to all Dirty Dems: If you could accept just one painful fact of life, it could save you from ending up in a padded cell: Other than meeting a violent demise, Donald Trump is going to be president until at least January 20, 2021 — and a lot longer if you continue to aid and abet him.
In a last desperate effort to derail Trump, some Democrats are now focused on the 25th Amendment, an obscure section of the Constitution that provides for stripping a president of his powers if a majority of his own cabinet (nine of 17 members) confirms that he is incapable of discharging his duties.
But that’s only the beginning. Once members of the House and Senate are notified by the president’s cabinet, two-thirds of both branches of Congress would also have to vote to strip him of his powers. The mathematical breakdown is that 96 out of 241 House Republicans would have to vote to emasculate Trump and 19 Republican senators would have to join all 46 Democrats in the Senate.
And that ain’t gonna happen — ever. Neither is impeachment, which even Nancy Pelosi admits has no chance of succeeding. And, no Maxine, Trump is not going to resign. He’s having too much fun driving you crazy.
The simple fact is that no matter how loud the Dirty Dems yell and scream, no matter how many crazy shenanigans they try, it does not change the fact that you can’t judicially void an election. There’s nothing in the Constitution that allows a court of law to undo the results of a presidential election, nor can a court arbitrarily install a new president by judicial fiat.
Psst, Dirty Dems, listen up: You can’t invoke remedies that do not exist under the law. Really and truly, you can’t.
The bottom line is that all the noisemaking from the left is pure fantasy. But the fantasy is good for Trump and the Republicans, because so long as the Dirty Dems use their time and energy to focus on the impossible, that’s time and energy that isn’t being focused on presenting a serious agenda to Americans so they can have a reason to vote for Democrats.
Having said all this, let me admit that I, too, would like to see Trump act his age and let go of the childish stuff. My problem with some of the dumber tweets he sends into the Twittersphere is that he is almost singlehandedly keeping the Dirty Dems’ hopes alive. The Democratic Party is on life support, with only the results of the 2018 midterms standing between it and extinction, so Trump’s tweets are like throwing the Dirty Dems a lifeline.
Now, in an effort to try to figure out why Trump doesn’t take the easy route (by restricting his tweets to talking about his agenda and his accomplishments) to finishing off the Dirty Dems, it’s time for a little psychoanalysis. I truly believe that the reason a smart guy like Trump does outrageous things that actually prop up his enemies is because he loves the thrill of coming from behind.
My guess is that the uphill climb to prove his critics wrong gives him an adrenalin rush. He did it in the primaries and he did it again in the general election, so much so that I often said I wondered if he really was trying to find a way to lose.
Put another way, if Trump did nothing but continue to move his agenda forward, and if his results over the next 16 months are as good as they’ve been in the first six months of his presidency (little of which has been reported by the MSM), the Dirty Dems would hemorrhage House and Senate seats in 2018. I’m talking about a Republican landslide, which could very well be the end of the Democratic Party.
At a minimum, such a landslide would split the Dirty Dems in two. Comrade Bernie, Lunatic Liz, and Potty Mouth Perez would have to square off against Joe Manchin, Jim Webb, and other halfway sane or pragmatic Dems who appear to want to put an end to their party’s suicide mission.
In turn, what that would mean is that everything the Fake News Media is reporting about Trump having only about a 40 percent approval rating in the polls would become irrelevant. Even if the pollsters are telling the truth (which, based on past history, is highly unlikely), Trump and his supporters could win easily with a mere 40 percent of the vote. That’s because if the Dirty Dems split into two parties, the most either of them could hope to get is perhaps 35 percent of the vote.
But even if the Dems didn’t literally split into two parties, the ugly division within their party would cause a huge percentage of Democrats to stay home on election day. Trump’s base, on the other hand, is likely to come out even stronger in 2020 than in 2016.
Make no mistake about it, those of us who are overcome by Schadenfreude at the mere sight of a Dirty Dem on television are focused on one thing: the complete and utter destruction of the Democratic Party, sooner rather than later — and preferably in a humiliating fashion. (I admit it, I’m still relishing Hillary’s humiliation.) Which is why I’m urging President Trump to forget the come-from-behind antics and focus on putting the Dirty Dems away once and for all.
Even establishment Republicans would be grateful to him for doing so. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration. I guess I have to admit that McConnell, Ryan, & Co. would probably rather see Trump destroyed than the Democratic Party.
