The Road to Serfdom — 2024

Fearful they are on the verge of losing everything, Democrats are implementing an all-out assault on American elections.  Some years ago, Rush Limbaugh said Democrats resent having to persuade people to vote for them, because they consider themselves to be morally and intellectually superior to voters.  The ultimate goal of Democrats, he believed, is to do away with elections altogether.  And in that regard, attempts to take Trump off the ballot in Colorado and Maine were the equivalent of the Confederacy attacking Fort Sumter in 1861, because it signified the start of what may become a second civil war.

Whether it’s Black Lives Matter, pro-Hamas protestors, or any of the other iterations of leftwing revolutionaries, they all believe in the four fundamentals of the radical left:  lying, cheating, projection, and violence.  Violence is their ace in the hole, because it’s their firewall if all else fails.  The need to use violence to achieve one’s ends was put into print by Marx and Engels, then put into actual practice by Vladimir Lenin when he ignited the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in 1917.

Staying true to Karl Marx’s doctrine, Lenin claimed it was a revolution of the proletariat, but that was a lie.  Most workers supported the royal family, so Lenin resorted to violence to “persuade” them that a revolution was necessary.  In other words, it was a top-down revolution rather than bottom up.

It’s not a coincidence that every communist revolution in history has been a dismal failure and has destroyed the lives of millions of people — from Cuba to the Soviet Union, from the Eastern European bloc countries to North Korea, from Vietnam to Mao’s China.  Which raises the question, why do so many people continue to support radical-left leaders even in prosperous Western countries?

The short answer is envy — pure, unadulterated envy.  It may be hard for the average person to grasp, but the communist true believer has a childish, simplistic view of the world that goes something like this:  There are people who are privileged, while others are poor and suffering, and that’s just not fair.  In fact, to the radical leftist, wealth and success are evil, and the only solution to these perceived evils is that those whom they arbitrarily perceive to be privileged (which, in real-life terms, is a euphemism for the middle class) must be punished.

The envy and hatred of the radical left knows no bounds.  Its goal is not so much to redistribute wealth as to destroy it.  In other words, the focus of leftwing fascists is to punish those who, in their view, have “more than they need.”  That’s why jellyfish Republicans who constantly preach about the importance of compromising with the radical left are naïve, ignorant, and/or unprincipled.

In the real world, there is no compromising with radical leftists, because their goal is to eliminate freedom, including and especially free speech and free markets.  The only way to protect people from any group that advocates violating human rights and calls for the enslavement of law-abiding citizens is to outlaw that group.  Today, Democrats are a far greater threat to freedom than the Communist Party USA, which is why it is morally justifiable to call for their elimination.

Interestingly, Bernie Sanders brought out of the woodwork millions of people who actually want a communist revolution, while at the same time Donald Trump inspired millions of people to join a liberty revolution.  To believe there can or should be a compromise between these two diametrically opposed world views is beyond naïve.

Short of a violent revolution, the only other way to end the conflict between those who advocate tyranny and those who believe in liberty is a two-state solution, but dividing the United States into two separate countries would be a very messy undertaking, because it would involve, by necessity, millions of people being uprooted and moved to other states.

While no one can know for certain how things will play out in 2024 and beyond, the most likely scenario is a real insurrection.  Either the radical-left insurrectionists will win and finish the job of fundamentally transforming the United States of America into a country consisting of a ruling class and a class of serfs, or liberty-minded counterrevolutionaries will push aside establishment Republican enablers, crush the radical-left insurrectionists, and restore a semblance of freedom to America.

It seems unfair that freedom isn’t free, but the reality is that it’s not.  The road to serfdom has been long and winding, but we’ve finally arrived at a fork in the road.  Which way we choose to go will probably be decided in 2024.  Liberty or tyranny:  Pick one.
