Following are some telltale signs that an individual is afflicted with egoruptcy.

Trying to impress others with how well he’s doing. (The more someone spouts off about his accomplishments, the less likely it is that he has accomplished much of anything.)

Constantly mouthing off about the deals he’s working on.

Dwelling on what he’s accomplished in the past.

Rapid expansion of offices (particularly if lavishly decorated), staff, or business in general.

Talking incessantly about what he owns.

Talking incessantly about who he knows (commonly referred to by the CDC as “L.A. Derangement Syndrome”).

When most or all of the above signs are evident, the egoruptcy clearly is in its advanced stages and the afflicted individual has probably deteriorated beyond hope. There’s not much you can do about it other than shield your face when passing him in order to avoid becoming infected yourself.
