Sotomayor Comes Out of the Closet

As all the world now knows, during oral arguments over Biden’s vax-mandate proposal, Justice Sotomayor blurted out a couple of whoppers that even Democrat fact checkers couldn’t let slide. First, she casually remarked that “the Omicron variant is just as deadly to the unvaccinated” as the Delta variant, which even the most hysterical vax-mandate advocate knows is demonstrably false.
Not content to leave it at that, Sotomayor emphasized her point by saying the Omicron variant is so dangerous that “we have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition, many on ventilators.” As with Joe Biden’s outrageous comments day in and day out, it’s hard to know if Sotomayor was lying or is simply moronic.
This should be yet another wakeup call to those naïve souls who still believe the fairy tale that the Supreme Court is nonpartisan. It most decidedly is not, and never has been. Nor is it a “6-3 Republican majority.” Let’s stop the wishful thinking and acknowledge that there are only three truly conservative judges on the court — Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and perhaps Neil Gorsuch.
Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Stephen Breyer are Radical Leftists. John Roberts is a liberal, and Amy Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh are right-leaning moderates, at best. By my count, that makes it a 5-4 conservative court on some issues and 6-3 liberal court on others.
If she’s smart, Sotomayor will apologize for her partisan slip of the tongue, but I wouldn’t count on it. Radical Leftists have never been accused of being smart, but maybe the Dem spin artists can talk her into a fake apology.
Regardless, if the GOP is ever able to overcome Democrat cheating and put another Republican in the White House, that president should be relentlessly pressured into nominating only proven and consistent conservative judges to the Supreme Court. “Pretty conservative” or “usually conservative” don’t cut it. Both Bushes proved their liberal creds with their Supreme Court picks, and Trump, while an improvement, couldn’t quite go all-in when it came to picking hard-core conservative judges.
I’ll say it again: Republicans need to learn from their “colleagues across the aisle” and develop a ruthless killer instinct. If Justice Breyer caves under pressure and resigns, don’t be surprised if the Dems, without hesitation, put outlaw Merrick Garland on the Court. Wake up, Republicans!
