Are U.S. Elections Irrelevant?

I’ve never been one to prolong victory celebrations.  Taking a cue from Bill Gates, who decades ago said that he always wanted to hear the bad news first because the good news didn’t need his attention, I developed the habit of looking ahead to the next problem.  If you celebrate good news too long, the next problem has a way of sneaking up on you.

That’s why even though the red-wave preview of coming attractions that occurred on November 2 was intoxicating, it’s already in my rear-view mirror.  Now it’s time to focus on the questions that will decide whether America survives as a republic rooted in Western values or descends further into the sinkhole of fiscal insanity, open borders, shortages, crime, sloth, and totalitarianism.

The first question in that regard is whether Republicans will be bold enough and aggressive enough to keep massive Democrat cheating to a minimum in the 2022 and 2024 elections.  Let’s face it, everyone realizes that Republicans are going to overwhelm Democrats at the polls in 2022.  Even Radical Leftists like Chuck Todd and James Carville are sounding the alarm of impending doom for the lunatics of the left.

But before prematurely celebrating the 2022 red wave, Republicans would be wise to focus on the words often attributed to Josef Stalin, “The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.”  Whether Stalin actually spoke those words has been debated for years, but the 2020 presidential election certainly underscored their efficacy.

After the shellacking Democrats endured in Virginia, not to mention New Jersey, Long Island, Minneapolis, and Seattle, they have fire coming out of their nostrils.  One would have to be suffering from a terminal case of naiveté not to assume that the Dems will implement new and improved cheating methods in the 2022 elections.  If Republicans aren’t prepared for this certainty, and if they don’t take aggressive and drastic steps to prevent it, the vote counters, rather than the voters, could once again decide the winners.

That said, let’s be optimistic and assume Republicans are successful in holding Democrat cheating in check and that they gain overwhelming control of the House and Senate in 2022 and the White House in 2024.  Game over, right?  Not quite.  The question that will still need to be answered is:  What will Republicans actually do with their newfound power?

Will they be as relentless and uncompromising as Democrats?  If the past is prologue to the future, it would be unwise to bet the farm on the GOP developing a killer instinct anytime soon.  I’m not just talking about low-hanging fruit like lowering taxes, reducing regulations, and turning the energy spigot back on.  These are obvious things that are pretty easy to do.  I’m referring to the tough stuff that would cause demented Democrats to howl at the moon every night and incoherently blabber about white supremacy, gender equity, and nonstop “constitutional crises.”

Above all, I’m talking about punishing Democrats for their criminality.  If Republicans take power, they should open a full-scale investigation not only into Hunter Biden, but the entire Biden family, including and especially Joe Biden.  The worst-kept secret in Washington is that Biden & Co. has been stealing mega-millions from American taxpayers (mostly through the money-laundering scheme of influence peddling) since the Big Guy first arrived on the scene in Washington nearly a half century ago.

Next on their criminality list should be to open a serious investigation into the events of January 6, focusing on what role both Nancy Pelosi and the FBI played in encouraging protestors to enter the Capitol Building and why hundreds of people who were found guilty of nothing more than trespassing were incarcerated indefinitely.  Also, what evidence did Congressional investigators rely on to conclude that January 6 was part of a planned “insurrection?”

But perhaps the most rampant Democrat criminality revolves around illegal immigration.  If Republicans achieve power, they should deport everyone who is in the country illegally.  No exceptions.  Everyone.  Not at some future date to be announced, but now.  It doesn’t matter how a person ended up in the United States or how old they were when they arrived, illegal entry should be an automatic disqualifier.  Mass deportations are the only way to convince foreigners that the United States is serious about enforcing its immigration laws.

That, however, should only be the beginning.  The end game should be to prosecute everyone who violated federal immigration laws by aiding and abetting non-citizens to enter the country illegally.  If the roles were reversed and Republicans had done the things Democrats have done over the past year to import new Republican voters, they would have to build new prisons to hold all the Republicans found guilty of violating immigration laws.

Of course, the same squishy Republicans who cannot seem to restrain themselves from voting with Democrats on policies aimed at further damaging America and reducing individual freedom will argue that it’s “time to move on” and focus on “the people’s business.”  They had no problem, of course, with the Russia-collusion hoax or two sham impeachments, but when it’s time for Democrats to be held accountable, they always seem to agree that it’s “time to move on.”

If Republicans do not focus on punishing criminal behavior when they gain power, rest assured that Democrats are not going to stand by and allow themselves to be permanently sidelined simply because a majority of voters happened to reject them.  The truth be known, Democrats resent having to expend the effort to try to convince voters that their agenda is good for America, which is why their goal is to do away with elections altogether.

Failing that, if Democrats are stripped of all power in 2022 and 2024, they will simply refuse to accept the will of the people.  In an interview with Margaret Hoover on Firing Line, Fiona Hill, former George W. Bush and Obama administration official, warned that “Civil war is possible if Trump wins back the White House in 2024 after disputing his 2020 election loss.”  In other words, if people insist on voting the wrong way, Democrats will have no choice but to resort to violence.

This is why there can be no “moving on” if 2022 and 2024 produce red waves.  If Republicans sweep into power, then fail to prosecute lawbreaking Democrats and deep-state hacks, their power will be meaningless.  The only way to prevent future acts of criminality on the part of Democrats is to harshly punish them for their past crimes.

Thus, if there are Republican red waves in the 2022 and 2024 elections, the big question is:  Will Republicans actually use their power to crush totalitarian Democrats?  Sadly, I doubt it.  At least not until voters are ready to take the first step by throwing out establishment frauds like Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy, and Lindsey Graham, to name just a few of the more obvious RINOs who can always be counted on to enable Democrat lawbreakers.  And that, in turn, won’t happen until true Republican conservatives wise up and stop endorsing RINOs.

Playwright Arthur Miller once opined that “an era can be said to end when its basic illusions are exhausted.”  If so, I would suggest that the era of Radical Left anger and hatred is far from over, because the illusions of Radical Leftists actually become more extreme each time they are rejected by voters.  Even today they insist that the reason they were shellacked on November 2 was because they did not push far enough to the left!

Hegel famously said that “We learn from history that we do not learn from history.”  If conservative voters continue to elect politicians who have no interest in their concerns, and supposed conservative politicians (like Donald Trump, for example) continue to endorse those same fake conservatives, they will have once again demonstrated that they have learned nothing from history and the outcome of U.S. elections will continue to be irrelevant.
