The student chaos at the University of Missouri, Ithaca College, and Smith College is a grim reminder of the lost sixties and early seventies, when student protests and rioting on college campuses across the country ultimately led to the deaths of four students (and injuries to nine) when National Guard troops opened fire on rioters at Kent State.

If we learn nothing else from this mindless behavior, it is that not only are 18-year-olds — and certainly 16-year-olds — too young to vote, but so, too, are kids in the their early twenties. The minimum voting-age requirement should be changed back to 25.

With few exceptions, kids younger than 25 simply don’t have enough knowledge to vote. They have to get away from the Marxist environment of their college campuses for a few years before they are ready to actually learn something about life. It’s almost impossible to learn about the real world in college.
