It was very sad to see Megyn Kelly …

It was very sad to see Megyn Kelly devote not one, not two, but three hour-long shows to the trials and tribulations of a reality TV family known as “the Duggars.” Since she got high ratings for her fill-up-the-air-time show, I guess I’m in a small minority that has no clue who these people are.

Nor do I care to find out. All three nights, I clicked off the show as soon as she announced what it was going to be about.

Just as people get the government they deserve, so, too, do they get the television they deserve — and want. And so long as half or more of the population qualifies as Watters’ World knotheads, this kind of crap will continue to be served up nonstop to America’s lost souls.

Look for Kelly to be filling up more air time soon by interviewing the alluring Caitlyn Jenner (yuk!).

This is all very disappointing, given that Megyn Kelly is the smartest, best prepared, most relentless, serious anchor at Fox News — not to mention the prettiest, which is a nice bonus to all of her other attributes.

I would hate to see Kelly push the envelope by offering more and more this kind of crap to attract walking-dead viewers — and end up going the way of Glenn Beck. I never missed one of Beck’s shows when he was relentlessly disrobing the worldwide radical-left movement. Then, seemingly overnight, his alcoholic personality took over and destroyed both him and his legacy. Then — poof! — just like that he was gone.

If I were advising Megyn Kelly, I would tell her to stick with serious subject matter, the kind of stuff that made her famous, and stop blabbing about her “hunk” of a husband, her bad first marriage, and her kids. Plus, stop trying to be outrageous by throwing water at the TV camera and making cutsey, off-color comments.

If Kelly can’t control herself and ends up falling victim to an irreversible case of Beckitis, I’m sure going to miss her.
