If you are fortunate enough to have achieved a degree of success, the challenge is to not allow others to prevent you from enjoying it. We live in an age of envy and intimidation, so beware of those who try to make you feel guilty for being successful.

It’s irrational to believe that just because there are people who live in poverty, you should feel guilty about your success. Unless someone is poor because you robbed him, you should not allow the fact that poverty exists (and always has) to be an obstacle to your happiness.

On the contrary, to the degree you are successful, you will have made a great contribution to society, because you are not a burden to the rest of the world. And, as a bonus, your success puts you in a position to help people whom you deem to be in need if it is your desire to do so.
