What my dad taught me about customer service:

First, when a customer comes in, stop whatever you’re doing and give him all your attention.

Second, never argue with a customer, no matter how unreasonable he may be.

It is to your good fortune that you now live in a world infested with sloth, laziness, incompetence, negligence, and rudeness, because if you treat your customers like royalty, you‘re almost certain to stand out like a thinking person at a political rally. In fact, every time you run into rudeness or indifference toward customers, you’re witnessing a business that is actively inviting competition.

It’s almost scary to contemplate how difficult it would have been to succeed during an age when the vast majority of business owners and employees believed in going above and beyond the call of duty to make customers happy.

Three cheers for sloth, laziness, incompetence, negligence, and rudeness!
