There were two good things about Megyn Kelly’s interview with Charles Koch this past week.

First, Fox’s Queen of Narcissism behaved herself for a change, I presume because she was awed at being in the presence of capitalist royalty.

Second, Koch recalled a note his father had left his sons before his death (regarding the money he was willing to them), which he paraphrased as follows:

“If you choose to let this money destroy your initiative and independence, then it will be a curse to you, and my action in giving it to you will have been a mistake. I shall regret very much to have you miss the glorious feeling of accomplishment. Remember that often adversity is a blessing in disguise and is certainly the greatest character builder.”

While listening to Koch, it occurred to me that I know of no university that teaches anything whatsoever about initiative, independence, the feeling of accomplishment, or adversity being a blessing in disguise and a character builder.

All these ideas fly in the face of the socialist government we now have, because, if taught in the schools and practiced by a majority of the population, they would eliminate most of the things that criminal politicians spend their time working on.

It is therefore not at all surprising that the radical left paints Charles Koch as the reincarnation of Lucifer and has directed death threats at him for years. It underscores the sad truth that some people will kill — literally — to avoid having to get a real job and work for a living.
