The most idiotic cliché among hundreds of idiotic clichés floating around today is: “We need to have an honest discussion about race.”

Huh? Discussing race has become nothing less than an obsession for many people over the past six-and-a-half years. In fact, it seems as though it’s the only thing some folks want to talk about.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I don’t believe I’ve talked to anyone — certainly not in the last couple of decades — who sounds or acts like a racist. On the contrary, it’s quite inspiring how the vast majority of white people have not only come to respect the rights of blacks, but — and let’s be honest here — bend over backwards to make sure they are treated as equals.

That’s why it’s so disappointing when a “Hands up, don’t shoot” or Freddie Gray type scam is promoted by hate-filled people who desperately want to stir up trouble. And, in addition, by emasculating the police, it makes living in cities like New York and Baltimore much more dangerous – especially for law-abiding black citizens.

Vengeful politicians and bureaucrats like Baltimore’s mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and State Attorney Marilyn Mosby should be held legally responsible for their reckless misdeeds. They are the real racists, and their misconduct has cost residents of Baltimore an enormous amount of pain and suffering.

Enough! I think what Americans need to do is STOP talking about race. Both slavery and Jim Crow are ancient history. It’s time to get back to where we were just a few short years ago when things were not only much better for both blacks and whites, but getting even better with each passing day.
