Will Sleepy Joe Be Forced Out?

Since he first entered the Democratic primary, I’ve insisted that Joe Biden is not a serious candidate and that I doubted he would be his party’s nominee.  Now, after watching him stumble his way through a nonexistent presidential campaign, I am more convinced of that than ever.  Nevertheless, as a result of the hapless Democrats fielding a group of totally unqualified lunatics to run in their primaries, they ended up having to anoint Sleepy Joe by default.

The Dems have tried hard to mask Biden’s senility, his plagiarism, his serial lying, his criminality, and his creepiness, but it hasn’t worked.  Fake polls notwithstanding, he is clearly headed for a landslide loss in November, and, bluster aside, Democrats are fully aware of it.  That’s why they’ve made it clear that not only do they intend to cheat in the actual voting, they also plan to file a massive number of lawsuits after the election ends in an effort change the results.

Which brings me to next Tuesday, the day Biden is supposed to climb into the ring with Orangeman.  His preppers are frantically cramming his damaged brain with facts and figures, but it won’t work.  In fact, it will only serve to confuse him when he goes live with the president.  True, the “impartial” presidential debate commission has already given Biden’s people the material he needs to study, but Orangeman will ignore Chris Wallace and relentlessly pound Biden with truth bombs that will have him stumbling around like a nursing home patient trying to find a bathroom in the dark.  It’s guaranteed to be ugly.

Compassionate soul that I am, I almost feel sorry for Biden’s handlers, because they’ve backed themselves into a corner from which there is no escape.  When his poll numbers started sliding, they felt they had no choice but to bring him out of the basement and pretend as though he was actually campaigning.  And now that they’ve seen the horrifying results of his being in front of live cameras, they have nowhere to turn.

Which is why I’m still not sure they will allow Biden to step onto the debate stage with Donald Trump Tuesday, knowing full well that he will collapse in a heap of bone dust after enduring a couple of the president’s crippling jabs to the ribs.  Imploding on national television is not a good optic for someone being touted as the right man to become leader of the free world.

Rush Limbaugh came up with an interesting possibility when he speculated that Team Biden might claim that Sleepy had contact with someone infected by COVID and that he therefore needs to be quarantined for two or three weeks — meaning, no debate.  It’s an interesting thought, but if Biden’s handlers actually tried it, it would never fly with independents.

That said, the odds are that the first debate probably will take place.  Beyond that, however, all bets are off.  Following his certain annihilation in Tuesday’s head-to-head, the odds of Biden’s string-pullers allowing him to show up for a second stomping drop considerably.  If the outcome of the first debate is as catastrophic as I anticipate, they may, as many Democrats have already urged them to do, proclaim that Trump is an uncouth bully and that Biden will not take part in further dignifying his lies.

Obviously, that won’t work, either, but Team Biden is running out of options.  When everything you’re trying to do is based on a bedrock of lies, nothing works.  Which is why Biden’s handlers may have no choice but to pull him out of the race.  “Sorry, folks, but Joe Biden has developed some serious health problems and we simply cannot risk his wellbeing.”

All well and good, but if Biden is forced out, the Democratic Party is faced with yet another unwinnable situation.  If they even think about anointing Horrible Harris, 100 percent of Bernie’s supporters will leave the party.  If, on the other hand, they finally throw in the towel and begrudgingly anoint Sanders as their replacement nominee, they will be faced with the impossible task of trying to convince voters — in a matter of days! — that hard-core socialism is a good thing for them.  The problem is that their own voters already rejected Bernie.

Given all the terrible options, it’s possible Biden will remain the Democrat nominee.  If so, the polls that continue to show him ahead in places like Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin will be exposed as fraudulent.  The truth is that the president has never been behind in any of the states where the media keeps hyperventilating about the races “tightening.”  Trump will win easily — on election day, that is.

Post-election, however, is a different matter altogether.  Again, Democrats have already made it clear they will be bombarding Trump, his voters, red states, and election officials with lawsuits after the election is over in an effort change the results.  They’ve even gone so far as to say that on election night it will look as though Trump has won in a landslide, but that the result will be reversed when all the mail-in ballots have been counted.

Which means the Supreme Court will end up deciding the election.  And that in turn means that Trump’s new Supreme Court nominee will decide the outcome of the election by casting the tie-breaking vote in a 5-4 decision.  (I factor in the deplorable John Roberts as a dependable Democratic vote.)

In the meantime, don’t count on Sleepy Joe going the distance as the Democratic nominee.  It’s possible, but not a sure thing.  I know this goes against our normalcy biases, but stranger things have happened.  After all, a reality television star became president of the United States.
