The WEF and Climate-Change Nonsense

The much-hyped World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in the lavish resort town of Davos, Switzerland mercifully ended last Friday, with the usual self-congratulatory schmoozing and boozing.  Attendees climbed into their carbon-spewing private jets and headed back to their respective homes, leaving their high-priced hookers behind.

I think it’s safe to say that most people don’t know much, if anything, about the World Economic Forum (WEF).  If they did, it might ignite a Bolshevik-style revolution against its members, starting with its founder, billionaire Klaus Schwab, a real-life Lex Luthor if there ever was one.  The WEF is funded by giant global corporations and run by unaccountable financiers, bureaucrats, and intellectuals.

They are the bubble crowd — wealthy snobs who are insulated from such common-folk worries as crime, economic chaos, war, and illegal immigration.  They can afford to promote feel-good policies that are devastating to the average person, because they themselves are immune to the consequences of their own actions.

The WEF’s stated mission is to “improve the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas,” which is an obfuscating way of saying “improve the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders of society to figure out new and better ways for WEF members to become richer.”  You might say WEF members are masters of trickle-up economics.

To accomplish its goals, all the WEF wants is to dominate all aspects of your life (in a sincere effort to make you a better person, of course).  Understandably, the arch enemy of the WEF is a phenomenon called “populism,” which threatens the existence of the elites.  In his opening remarks, Schwab told his comrades that it was their job to “master the future,” which means controlling the unwashed masses and preventing them from rebelling.

Of course, the five-day Davos affair could have been done via Zoom calls, which would have saved millions of dollars in jet fuel, hotel bills, gourmet food, and prostitutes, but global elites have no interest in such an alternative.  Giving up smoked salmon and caviar in the Swiss Alps is unthinkable to them.  After all, their comfort is essential to their quest to solve the world’s problems.

One of the top priorities of the WEF is to “save the planet,” so it should come as no surprise that the crown jewel of its agenda is “climate change.”  Thus, it should also come as no surprise that twin-climate hoaxers John Kerry and Al Gore attended the Davos extravaganza and gave rousing speeches about the need for more climate-change regulation.

Remembering Kerry’s stunning comment in 2019 when a reporter asked him why he flew on a private jet to a climate conference in Iceland (“It’s the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle.”), he referred to himself and other attendees at Davos as — and I’m not making this up — “a select group of human beings.”

If you’ve done a reasonable amount of reading on the subject, you likely already know that the claim that manmade climate change is an existential threat to mankind is probably the greatest hoax in recorded history.  Its two most notable features are that it ignores actual science and its predictions never come true.

However, the fact that climate hoaxers ignore science doesn’t mean they don’t claim to have scientific evidence.  The problem is that their evidence always turns out to be untrue.  The most oft-repeated example of this is their insistence that extreme weather is happening far more often, and is much worse, than at any other time in history.

This is demonstrably false, of course.  The fact is that the number of deaths from extreme weather conditions has dropped 99.9 percent since the 1920s.  Nevertheless, without any evidence whatsoever, every time there is a flood, hurricane, tornado, or forest fire, climate loonies declare that “global warming” is the cause.  But such a declaration is not a fact; it’s nothing more than an opinion masquerading as a premise.

Such rhetoric is pure nonsense, which is why its promoters have to rely on hyperbole to keep their useful idiots in a constant state of hysteria.  Sorry, but calling everyone who refuses to buy into the climate-change nonsense “climate deniers” doesn’t cut it as a scientific argument.

In truth, the problem isn’t climate-change deniers at all.  The problem is climate-change promoters.  And insisting that the left’s climate-change nonsense is “settled science” is about as meaningful as Joe Biden saying “there’s no there there” when confronted with classified documents in his garage.

No question about it, the WEF and its climate-change agenda is right up there with the Democrat Party when it comes to pure evil.  Perhaps Elon Musk summed it up best when he said in a Twitter post, “WEF is increasingly becoming an unelected world government that the people never asked for and don’t want.”  I’ll second that.
