The Radical Left’s Drug of Choice

I tried to watch the Bernie Sanders’ Fox Townhall and managed to hang on for about 30 minutes.  That’s when I threw in the towel, because it was clear to me that what I was watching was utter and complete B.S.  It goes without saying that Bernie, like all Dirty Dem candidates, ignored most of the questions and quickly pivoted to Radical Left talking points.

What was especially annoying to me was the squealing, howling, and shrieking that came from the millennials planted in the audience.  I’ve heard loud and boisterous cheering at many political rallies over the years, but I don’t recall ever hearing squealing, howling, and shrieking all at once, not even for that arrogant kid who claimed he was going to stop the rise of the oceans.  It was vintage kindergarten stuff.

It was also scary, because even though Bernie would have zero chance of beating Donald Trump in a general election matchup, the reactions of the no-information bobbleheads in the audience was a reminder of just how many millions of voters are mesmerized by the specter of socialism.  It was as though they had lived through the Bolshevik Revolution and had been reincarnated, only to be determined to make the same mistake all over again.

The mistake I’m referring to is getting high on the Radical Left’s drug of choice, envy.  All people are envious to one extent or another, because it’s a trait inherent in the human condition.  The envy of today’s Radical Left, however, takes things to a whole new level, so much so that I believe we are now living through what historians may someday look back on as the Golden Age of Envy.

Envy has transmogrified America’s once-proud republic into a de facto democracy, the real-life consequence of which is tyranny of the majority.  Like a parasite, envy leaches onto democracy and disfigures its noble intent, with vote-hungry politicians acting as its chief enabler.  All that is left to make the transformation from a republic to a full-fledged democracy is for the Electoral College to be scrapped in favor of the popular vote.

No wonder Benjamin Franklin responded to that famous but unnamed lady who queried him about the type of government the Founders had decided on at the Constitutional Convention, “A republic, if you can keep it.”  Make no mistake about it, the Founders were apprehensive about the concept of a democracy.  They were well aware that democracy could lead to tyranny of the majority, which in turn would lead to socialism.  And socialism, by definition, is a loss of freedom.

In some respects, what we have today is even worse than tyranny of the majority.  It’s something I doubt ever occurred to the Founders:  tyranny of the minority.  With impunity, the minority now coerces, intimidates, and bullies the majority into meeting its demands.

And why not?  After all, the majority has been conditioned to believe that the minority is morally superior.  As a result, the majority is riddled with guilt.  Not just the white guilt that has resulted from the sin of slavery, but guilt about enjoying more freedom than people in other countries, guilt about having superior skills in one area or another, guilt about anything that might cause one to be viewed as “privileged.”

While jealousy is the resentment of another person’s success or possessions, envy is an intellectual and moral vice that goes one step further.  Envy is the desire to bring the other person down to one’s own level — or, even more deliciously, below one’s own level.

For example, Radical Leftists do not just want to see Donald Trump impeached.  They do not just want to see him lose his fortune.  What they dream of is seeing him and all of his children put in prison for life.  Literally!

Envy, then, is not so much about improving one’s own lot in life, but, rather, destroying someone else’s life.  The French Revolution was a perfect example of the endgame of envy.  To the envious person, there is nothing quite as satisfying as seeing the head of someone he envies rolling down the street in a river of blood.  Viva Robespierre!

Thus, it’s easy to understand why the envy-ridden individual sees an all-powerful democratic government as salve for his pain.  Government has a monopoly on the use of force and is the only entity that has the legal right to make a law-abiding citizen give part of what he owns or earns to someone else.

Envy is a disease of the mind that politicians fully understand, and they are adept at using it for personal power and financial gain.  To achieve their ends, they are highly motivated to promote envy at the cost of freedom.

We know what the endgame is for the Radical Left — a left-wing dictatorship that forces its will on the citizenry.  By contrast, the endgame of those who believe in freedom is to achieve a society based on the original founding principles.  It is these principles that made it possible for the United States to become the freest and most prosperous country in the history of mankind.

I continue to believe that the only way to achieve the latter is to take advantage of what’s left of our Constitution and our founding principles and do whatever is necessary to gain and maintain control of all three branches of government while we are still able to do so.  If the Dirty Dems ever gain control of all three branches of government, they will make sure, by hook or by crook (likely by crook), that they hold on to the reins of power indefinitely.

Which is why, as I have repeatedly stated, there is no compromise with so-called liberalism, progressivism, socialism, communism — whatever you choose to call it.  It must be crushed into irrelevance by dominating all three branches of government, so much so that it can never again be a threat to our freedom.

Rest assured that the Radical Leftists campaigning for the Democratic nomination will try to push the hot buttons of all those who will listen by using such doublespeak phrases as “economic justice,” “pay their fair share,” “undocumented workers,” and “white supremacy” in their zeal to become the Democratic nominee.  The Radical Left base loves it, of course, but shame on anyone at or near the center of the political spectrum who is swayed by such intentionally deceptive euphemisms.

The Dirty Dems are doing everything in their power to destroy the Democratic Party.  No problem there.  Now, the least we can do is help them to make that a reality.  Are you listening, RINOs?
