It will be interesting to see how Republican presidential candidates handle the massacres in France in the coming weeks. Will any of them have the courage — or intellect — to confront the real problem? I doubt it.

The problem is not ISIS. The problem is the moral deterioration of the Western world into an anything-goes cesspool.

The intentional spreading of lies like “Hands up, don’t shoot,” threats of violence against a photographer covering the University of Missouri student protests, the wholesale slaughter of unborn children, the routine assassination of police officers, unbridled criminal activity by politicians, the intentional bankrupting of America and most industrialized countries via the Cloward-Piven strategy … all this and more — much more — is the underlying cause of terrorism.

Laugh as you will, but I tell you that when people abandon their historical and generally accepted code of conduct, when they embrace an attitude of being nonjudgmental toward those who are a threat to a civilized culture, when they apologize to criminals and glorify them as victims, it’s an open invitation for barbarians to walk in the front gate and rape, murder, and plunder at will.

As many have written, the civilized world is, indeed, at a breaking point. Either a majority of people will become angry enough to stand up and heed Edmund Burke’s words about the triumph of evil or America and the Western world will cease to exist in any form that is even vaguely recognizable to any of us.
