Elevating Farces to Crap

By Robert Ringer - Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Yesterday I labeled the media angst over the Super Committee’s possible failure (now a fait accompli) a farce.  But let me make it clear it was only one of a seemingly infinite list of farces that the criminal class and its media allies bombard us with daily.

Which brings me to one of the more dangerous farces, the indignation over the rich “not paying their fair share.”  What the hell is fair share, anyway?  Insisting that the rich need to pay their fair share is right up there with George Bush’s compassionate conservatism, Michelle Obama’s phony White House garden, and the belief that the Arab Spring was a democratic revolution.

In finer circles, extreme farces such as these are officially referred to as CRAP … as in, that’s a bunch of crap.

What’s especially disconcerting about the fair-share nonsense is that Barack Obama has succeeded in turning it into a legitimate debate topic in his reelection campaign.  Just the fact that it is now being seriously discussed on a daily basis on television is a victory for the White House Whiner.

Obama is a master at the Alinsky game of isolating one’s target, as are most of his socialist allies in Congress.  So good, in fact, that conservatives find themselves in the all-too-familiar position of resorting to defensive arguments.

One that particularly annoys me is when a conservative talking head or politician tries to make the case that the reason taxes shouldn’t be raised on millionaires is because they reinvest their money in expanding their businesses.

It’s the same old problem of framing the debate on a false premise, in this case the premise that unless a wealthy person reinvests his income in his business, he is morally obliged to allow the government to take more of it and redistribute it to others.

The response of a principled conservative should be that it’s none of the government’s business — or anyone’s business, for that matter — what someone does with his money.  It’s similar to yet another false-premise argument that is repeatedly used by unprincipled Republicans:  “You should not raise taxes on anyone in the middle of a recession.”

Wrong!  The reason you shouldn’t raise taxes at any time is because stealing is immoral.

Barack Obama, the World Heavyweight Champion of Chutzpah, is cleverly setting himself up as the protector of the middle class, even as he continues to financially rape that politically sought-after group of voters.  Can he pull it off?  Yes!  Do not sell this combination of community organizer and con artist short.

That’s why he started pushing class warfare clear back in his 2008 campaign with his “It’s a matter of fairness” response to Charlie Gibson’s pointing out that raising the capital-gains tax actually decreases government revenues.

Rest assured that Barack Obama clearly understands that the foundation of socialism is class warfare.  Which means that a lot of fair-share crap will be coming your way over the next eleven months.
