Moral Superiority’s Blank Check

The most dangerous mind-set known to mankind is moral superiority, and it’s been on display, particularly by the Radical Left, since time immemorial. There are many harmful consequences to moral superiority, but the most dangerous one is a predisposition to violence. Whether it’s Black Lives Matter, Occupy Wall Street, or college-snowflake protestors, the Radical Left revels in violence.

It’s amazing to me that so many people seem completely baffled by the fact that the Radical Left — including the media, politicians, Hollywood, and various species of tree-hugging freaks — do not have the maturity or self-control to resist acting like spoiled children, vulgar troglodytes, and garden-variety maniacs.

Whether it’s illiterate foul language being spewed out by garbage receptacles such as Whoopi and Rosie, the unctuous self-righteousness that comes from limousine liberals like George Clooney and Barbara Streisand, or the absurdities that flow from the mouths of mass fake-news manufacturers like CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, and ABC, these people never back down, they never apologize, and they never show the slightest interest in considering the opinions of those who extol the virtues of freedom — no matter how foolish they look to normal human beings.

Nor do they get embarrassed when they repeatedly end up with egg on their face. Rachel Maddow was the latest Radical Left casualty the other night when she teased her audience into believing that she had the Trump smoking gun after getting her hands on two pages of his 2005 tax return (that a felony apparently occurred apparently was irrelevant to the MMS), only to end up boosting his stock by telling her audience that he actually paid more in taxes that year than, among others, Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, Comrade Bernie, and (how embarrassing) NBC’s parent company Comcast.

Not to worry, though. The next day, Maddow went right back to creating fake news for her deplorable followers — no apologies, no explanation, no nothing. Just business as usual.

Speaking of her deplorable followers, in grasping for a life preserver when even Radical Lefty Stephen Colbert wouldn’t toss her one, Maddow decided to blame the whole thing on her audience for “having expectations that were too high.” Ah, the blameless life of a liberal.

Getting back to moral superiority, what about all the goofballs who declared they would leave the country if George Bush was elected president? Result: No leaving, no shame, no embarrassment. Eight years later, without so much as flinching, they came right back and made the same proclamation regarding Donald Trump. Again, no leaving, no shame, no embarrassment.

I’m not saying that all these people are lunatics, though, clearly, many of them are. But members of the Radical Left are not monolithic. Some are, for one reason or another, simply mad at the world and have an uncontrollable desire to see others suffer. I’m talking junkyard-dog mean, as in Horrible Hillary or Harry Reid. These are the people who genuinely want to hurt as many people as possible. Why? I have no idea. Perhaps it was something in their baby formula.

Others feel morally superior because they’re just plain stupid. Here we’re talking lost souls like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Pocahontas — empty vessels who have no deeply held beliefs and absolutely no interest in helping anyone. (When’s the last time you heard of an illegal alien having tea and biscuits with Nancy at her San Francisco penthouse?) The only strong conviction they have is that they are morally superior to everyone else — especially the guns and bible crowd.

The odor of moral superiority permeates virtually all areas of our life and gives the self-righteous among us justification for destroying anyone who dares to defy their beliefs. Whether it’s the global-warming scam, the murder of unborn babies, or the forcible shutting down of speakers with whom they disagree, the heretics must be destroyed at all costs.

The number-one enemy of the morally superior is, as one would expect, free speech, because free speech has the potential to convert believers into nonbelievers. Just a couple days ago, the Sierra Club called for an investigation into whether the new head of the Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt, violated this own agency’s policies by daring to express his belief that carbon dioxide is not a primary contributor to climate change. (BTW, it’s not.)

The morally superior folks at the Sierra Club say that he also broke EPA rules by stating that policymakers should not “knowingly misrepresent, exaggerate, or downplay” scientific uncertainty, and that officials should “not suppress or alter scientific findings.” Sounds rational to me.

But not to the Sierra Speech Police. They have all the answers, and if you don’t accept those answers, it would probably not be a bad idea to get into the free-speech witness protection program.

The bottom line is that all members of the Radical Left have one thing in common: They absolutely, positively, and sincerely believe in their moral superiority. And, much like radical Muslims, if you refuse to yield to their demands, they have no choice but to destroy you. After all, if you’re morally superior, you have a blank check to do whatever is necessary to save the world.

That’s what all the vicious, nonstop attacks on Donald Trump have been about. He’s the greatest threat to the Radical Left in our lifetime — and probably ever. Why? Because he is daring to stand up to those who are morally superior to him, and that simply cannot be allowed. There is no other alternative than to destroy him.

It’s anybody’s guess who will win this ugly street fight, but I wouldn’t want to put money on the outcome. The only bet that’s safe is that it’s sure to be very bloody, because those who believe they are morally superior and those who believe in freedom cannot coexist.
