The Revenge of the HillBillies?

By Robert Ringer - Monday, September 19, 2011

As Voice of Sanity subscribers know, early in 2009 I first started writing about the possibility of the HillBillies, the world’s first and only two-for-the-price-of-one political combo, challenging Barack Obama once it became obvious to a majority of the anesthetized public that the would-be emperor had no clothes.

Don’t get me wrong.  BHO has accomplished almost everything I expected of him — universal healthcare, a trillion-dollar stimulus giveaway, debt-ceiling increases that have brought the U.S. ever-closer to default, business-crushing regulations intended to bring the private sector to its knees, encouraging union thugs to engage in violent uprisings from coast to coast, appointing far-left radicals to important positions in the White House, sending a thumbs up to the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, and the PLO while constantly chastising Israel … no need to go on, as your own list is probably longer than mine.

But now Chairman Obama is in danger of stumbling before he can carry the ball across the left goal line and declare victory over America — the humiliating Democratic defeats in Nevada and New York’s District 9 … the Solyndra scandal threatening to spin out of control … his refusal to utter a word about Jimmy Hoffa’s introducing him at a union event in Detroit by saying, “Let’s take these [tea party] sons of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong” … etc.  The next thing you know, the world may even find out that Laura Ingraham was right about the White House garden being just another example of Obama razzle-dazzle.

As James Carville said in his recent warning to Democrats, “It’s time to panic.”  And that, I think, is where Obama’s weakness lies.  When panic sets in, he comes across as a frustrated, tantrum-throwing child, and each time he does, it awakens another batch of “independents” from their “yes we can” coma.  To put it mildly, it’s childish to go on tour and shout “Pass this bill” to audiences of college kids, but when you yell it out more than a hundred times in a week, it’s beyond childish; it’s pathetic.

Enter the HillBillies — and, yes, when you buy one, you do get the other one for free.  It’s getting late in the campaign game and, granted, it’s a tough decision for them to make, but they have to do it relatively soon if they really want to have the opportunity to finish trashing the White House (i.e., when they move out for the second time).

If Hillary announces, it will be one of the biggest bombshells in modern political history.  It will also tear the Democratic Party apart.  Nevertheless, I believe she would beat the current White House Grand Mufti rather handily.

Why?  Because there are enough rational Democrats out there who know that not only is their party going to lose the White House in 2012, they also are in danger of losing their own seats.  That creates a strong motivation to distance themselves from Obama and fall in line behind savior Hillary.

Now for the bad news:  If Hillary did secure the Democratic nomination, she would probably beat either Perry or Romney in a landslide.  Like Obama in his stealth 2008 campaign, she now has most of the public completely fooled.  The majority of Americans no longer see her as a radical sixties hippie who came to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue focused on implementing her own version of universal healthcare, but, rather, as a moderate, well-meaning liberal.

They forget that she’s the sweet little gal who once said, in a campaign speech, that she would take $5 billion from oil companies — that’s right, take it (as in, force) and use it for whatever.  And if she can take money that belongs to oil companies, she certainly can take it from you.

The public has already forgotten her abstract progressive rants about “environmental rights,” “I can create shared prosperity,” and “It takes a village.”  Hillary would still move to the left if she got into office, but slower and smarter than the current Emergency-in-Chief.  She may not have gone to a church for twenty years where the pastor shouted such goodies as “G__ damn America” week in and week out, but she is a died-in-the-wool believer in the collective over the individual.

That said, I hasten to add that she is also something else:  totally amoral.  Hillary and hubby have clearly demonstrated that they will do anything, anytime, anywhere, to anybody if it’s in their best interest.

A lot has happened in the movie-like saga of the HillBillies over the past decade, not the least of which is the discovery of how nice the payoff can be when you succeed in the capitalist system — in fact, more than $100 million worth of nice.

On the road to weaving hippie values into government at the highest levels, the Clintons found that wealth and prestige are not all that hard to get used to.  Hobnobbing with the rich and famous among Washington’s elite and on New York’s Upper East Side is something one learns to tolerate, even if he/she starts out as a genuine flower child.

What I’m saying here is that when push comes to shove, Hillary’s ego and materialistic instincts might just win out over her desire to be a model “new American progressive.”  After all, that “shared prosperity” schmaltz is really just for the dolts who are looking for more government handouts.  I’ve always believed that, behind the flowery phrases, Hillary actually harbors an enormous contempt for the lower echelons of society.

What I’m talking about here is a $3 million wedding for daughter Chelsea, $250,000 speaking fees as far as the eye can see, and invitations to royal dinners as a normal way of life.  Speaking of $250,000 speeches, you and I may have thought that we’d never live to see it, but the fact is that Hubby Bubby, the first of two world-class bull slingers from Hope, Arkansas, is now the face of the Democratic Party.

People have short memories.  They’ve apparently convinced themselves that his cigar tricks in the Oval Office were nothing more than a collective aberration. Groper Bill is now a revered elderly statesman.  Like it or not, he and Hillary have morphed into an elite establishment couple.

Meaning that if Hillary does challenge Obama and ends up back in the White House, she might just drop the “taking from the oil companies” blather and posit herself as the great middle-of-the-road state capitalist.  Sort of a female version of John McCain or Orrin Hatch.

Sure, the U.S. will still eventually go under, because neither the mathematical realities nor the entitlements that drive them can be overcome by anyone — especially a politician.  But if businesses are fooled by Hillary into believing otherwise, the free market is so robust that entrepreneurial activity could postpone the inevitable for another couple of decades.

That’s important, because in a couple of decades the world will look much different than it does today.  Depending on how things unfold with the tea party, we might even have a civil war where the good guys win.  Or some other solution — preferably one where government is relegated to a minor role in society — that we can’t see from our present vantage point.

The Marxist crowd knew from the moment they gained control of both houses of Congress and the White House that they were unlikely to get another opportunity to finish the job if they didn’t move quickly.  That’s why the left’s leading nut case, Paul Krugman, recently said, “I’m trying to make this progressive moment in American history a success.”

Ironically, it was none other than James Carville, the guy who now is warning the Dems that it’s time to panic, predicted, after the Democrats won it all in 2008, that the Democratic Party would rule for forty years.  For a long time, I thought he would have to eat his words, but if Hillary challenges Obama for the Democratic nomination, he might just turn out to be a prophet — albeit via a route he probably didn’t think possible.

Having said all this, for those of us who are still intent on resisting a left-wing police state in America, I think we would be wise to be careful what we wish for.  Obama can be beaten, but probably not Hillary.

  1. Reality Seeker ( aka Political Pundit) says:

“Your own list is probably longer than mine.”

Quite: Let’s not forget all of the overt and covert wars (aka kinetic military actions) that Mr. Nobel Peace Prize is engaged in. This “anti-war” guy, BHO, seems to be more “anti-war” and “peace loving” than G.W. Bush, if you can believe that. Yes, Obama loves to spread democracy around even more than G.W., but not as much as Dick Cheney (aka Darth Vader). ………….G.W. like BHO is merely the “young apprentice.”

amerika’s two main exports are war and ponzi-dollars. And Berry (sic) Obama loves them both. Loves them! So do they all. They ALL love to crusade. From Glenn Beck to Dick Morris to James Carville to Rick Perry to Berry Obama to Sarah Palin to ……….

…………..Hillary Clinton. Yes, remember? Hillary does, after all, hold the second most powerful position in the Executive Branch of government: Secretary of State, i.e. Secretary of War.

If Hillary does run, then nobody can accuse her of being a “chicken hawk.” She has all the necessary qualifications to become the next Imperial Commander-in-Chief….. Yes, “The Force” — i.e. military force— be with her……………….

Do I think that if she runs in the rat race that she will win? No. And here’s why: It would be a “bombshell” alright, too much of a “bombshell.” — as in nuclear. The Democratic party would not only be shell-shocked, but irradiated from the fallout. James Carville would suffer a coronary along with a few dozen other Democratic Congressmen/women. Dick Morris would wet his pants in delight as the news media went into a total frenzy. Everybody would “PANIC.”

It would be fun to watch; I’ll grant you that. But in the end, tho, The Democratic Party would fracture along racial lines. There would be racial and political riots on top of the economic riots that are sure to come between now and November 6th, 2012 (Beware: The economic numbers are looking DIRE). The repercussions of Hilliary entering the rat race would inevitably lead to a forceful, public backlash. Michelle Obama would first play the victim, then she and her husband would get ugly—real ugly. Hillary would be labeled a betrayer of The Black Messiah.

Here’s the bottom line: If Hillary runs, then I’m evacuating myself from Houston and “running” back into my bomb shelter. Why?

Because maybe—just maybe—that dictatorship that Mr. Ringer has been talking/warning about for years would then become a reality.

    • Reality Seeker ( aka Political Pundit) says:

Note: The more that I examine the economic figures, the more I believe that soon—before another year has elapsed—that there is going to be panic on a level that the younger generation has not yet experienced—-a bigger panic than 2007-2009.

I’ve been commenting on this very blog for years. During all that time, I’ve warned that amerika can muddle through the swamp for years yet to come—This fact has surprised many who are a part of the doom-and-gloom crowd.

At this point, I don’t think it matters who runs or who doesn’t, because it looks like a socioeconomic/political storm is brewing. A big one. Global. A storm that nobody can avert………

I had had moved to a more secure location for a few months back in 2009—just in case. I think that I’m about to move back.

  2. Al Shears says:

It is not obama or hillary or any other progressive that the Tea Party Patriots are determined to defeat, it is rampant big government liberalism that is the enemy. And a good Conservative Republican candidate can run against that with tons of ammunition as his disposal. Liberalism has just about destroyed the USA that we have all known and been proud to be a part of. The players like obama and the clintons are just pieces used in playing the game. But the game of liberalism has failed Americans miserably. It is still about the economy and the right candidate with the right platform to restore this over regulated and overtaxed economy can still beat any liberal who represents everything that has gone wrong in America. This wave is not letting up now. Liberalism is going to get swept aside, finally!

  3. Scott says:

To resist or not to resist, that is the question. There is a growing sentiment among conservatives to give BHO and his co-conspirators everything they want in order to quickly bring about the coming purge. They wonder whether it would be easier to pick up the pieces and rebuild were the enevitable economic collapse allowed to occur at the hands of the so-called progressives. Moreover, they consider whether it might actually keep the Democratic Party at bay longer. Of course the public isn’t privy to these deliberations other than the occasional op-ed piece by a Republican insider.

I believe RR may be spot on with his commentary concerning Hillary Clinton and the future fortunes of the Democratic Party. Yep, be careful what you wish for.

  4. Cheryl Allison says:

For crying out loud, what is it going to take before black Americans and all Democrats wake up and realize their Chicago mob boss has betrayed them? BHO is a media creation, and he’s not even a Christian. He consistently says what people want to hear, then does the opposite. His statements, actions, and voting record on abortion issues are completely contrary to the teachng of Christ. No wonder he cancelled the National Day of Prayer and left town, but was more than happy to see his Muslim brethren pile into Washington DC for their religious celebration. The US is mired in debt thanks to his cash-for-clunkers spending spree, that’s why full advertisers in national newspapers and on radio and television are buying and selling gold. The US dollar is past the point of no return and will likely be replaced as the world reserve currency. Prices will skyrocket overnight, and that’s just the beginning. Ignorant Democrats hate the Tea Party: it’s our last hope to stop them.

  5. Paul says:

I believe if Hill-Bill announces, she will split the dems 3 ways… racially, sexually and the faction that doesn’t know whether to sh!t or go blind. I’m actually looking forward to the panic and confusion.

Would I prefer to see her as the dem candidate over BHO? Ubetcha! Because having her as a candidate will completely eliminate any more whining about race. Whining about feminism is a lot easier to overcome and a lot of people who suffer from “White Guilt” don’t suffer from “Feminist Guilt.”

Now then, if at least one of the repubs will make some rational statements to remind the voting public that, for the past several years, she has been a willing and complicit co-conspirator in many of the naughty things BHO has done…

I also don’t believe Pretty-boy Perry or Rombama can beat her, but a run-off between Hill-Bill and Bachmann sure would be entertaining. If Ron Paul would take off the gloves and chug a few cases of Red Bull, he too could be a contender.

    • Reality Seeker ( aka Political Pundit) says:

      Paul:

Speaking of Ron Paul, as an aside, did it escape your notice that The Texas Republican Party canceled The Texas Straw Poll?

      http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/jun/16/texas-gop-scraps-straw-poll/

Could it be that The Republican Party (aka The Insider Party aka The Establishment Party aka The Warmonger Party aka The Ponzi Party) is worried about getting its butt kicked in the straw polls by Libertarian Ron Paul?

No, but of course not; I mean, Rick Perry (aka Trick Perry) and his ilk would never make a few phone calls and wrongly influence the shutdown of a straw poll. And Mitt Obamney would never try to influence and/or run and hide from the Florida Straw Poll. No, they would never do that, not those two Boy Scouts.

Hey, and where is/was one of the champions of The Co-opted Tea Party, Glenn Beck, during of all this hypocrisy? Oh, that’s right! He’s on a crusade. No wait, Beck was right here in Houston over the weekend; yet, not a word from Beck about what’s going on in the inside. Have you been suckered by Tricky Perry, too, GB?

Hey Beck, you met my son over the weekend right here in Houston. You’re a polite individual, Glenn. A real Mr. Nice Guy in person. And, Beck, many of us want you to succeed even tho you don’t fully get it yet. Really, we do. But if you really want to “help” the men and women in uniform, then how about ending the crusades.

Remember when Alexander Haig finally admitted that The Vietnam was a mistake? I got to ask him why, in person. And I can tell you this Beck. You’ll never be half the man that Haig was, especially before he died. You’re an intellectual apprentice ,Beck—that’s all. You and those two pet clowns of yours, stu and pat. Most of the time it’s like hearing a bad joke. —–Open your eyes CLOWNS! And learn from Haig’s and other’s many, many mistakes…..

      • Paul says:

Yeah, RS, I think it’s only the repub party and the media that are holding Ron Paul back… or trying to. They’re doing their damnedest but he keeps popping back up. It’s like a wicked little game of Whack-A-Mole. My hope is that he does not once again run out of gas at the crucial moment when he needs to accelerate.

If (and that’s a HUGE if) he can win the nomination, what can the dems possibly do? I don’t believe there are any skeletons in his closet and they certainly can’t accuse him of being a flip-flopper. There are actually very few chinks in his armor, but he really needs to toughen up a little.

  6. Robby Bonfire says:

He said “God Damn America,” he did not say “G–Damn America. These skunks can call us “Sons of Bitches,” which we are not, but we cannot even directly quote their most telling anti-America and anti-family values public statements? What one-sided, loaded gun to our heads is that?

God Dammit, Middle America, you are weak in the knees. No wonder you are in such big trouble, any two-bit carnival barker like the Irreverent Wright can back us down. They are marrying pansies, but Republicans and RINOS ARE a bunch of pansies. The meek will inherit the earth before the Republicans do, that is a fact. At least the meek have a little spine.

  7. Robby Bonfire says:

Hey – Reality S. – be kind to Alexander Haig – he and I attended the same high school, Lower Merion High in Ardmore, PA. Go Aces!

    • Reality Seeker ( aka Political Pundit) says:

It’s a small world indeed, RB. Too small, really.

“We of the Kennedy and Johnson administrations who participated in the decisions on Vietnam acted according to what we thought were the principles and traditions of this nation. We made our decisions in light of those values. Yet we were wrong, terribly wrong. We owe it to future generations to explain why.”….Robert Strange McNamara

Now there was another brilliant man who played God. A sort of Dr. Strange Love who ended up depressed and a broken man. You see, it’s one thing to play God, and it’s another to get old and tired and to the point that you know soon that you’ll have to face God…. Meet your maker, and explain to him why you killed so many of his children.

I spoke with Robert McNamara, too. Just after he put his mistakes in writing in the book, “In Retrospect: The Tragedy and Lessons of Vietnam.”

You want to know the lesson that some of these old warriors learned the hard way? O.K., here it is: When facing a determined enemy and a population who hates your country, the only path to a complete victory is through genocide and a totally brutal occupation. Anything short of genocide ends up a failure. And even when total military capitulation is achieved without genocide, it’s still no guarantee that victory/peace will last. Gandhi proved that. And the struggle between Palestine and Israel is the ultimate example of how to not achieve peace..

People have to voluntary want to be like America, then they will remake themselves (think Hollywood and how that culture changed the world). The problem is America has become amerika. Turn America into the shining example of freedom in the world and the need for war decreases.

The mass killers—the Dr. Strange Loves— of this world like McNamara and Haig learned the lesson the hard way.

  8. Robby Bonfire says:

It would be almost worth Hillary getting into The Big White House, just to enjoy her tearing apart the incumbent who tore her apart on the campaign trail, not that long ago. Hell hath no fury like a female radical-Socialist-Feminist scorned. This one, especially. She will kick his ass all the way from 1600 to Hagerstown. lol.

  9. Rocketman says:

Nicely put Mr. Ringer. It stands to reason that Texas would cancel the straw poll after California voted 44.9% for Paul and only 29.3% and 8.8% respectively for Perry and Romney. In fact they will probably cancel the rest of the straw polls. Can’t let the great unwashed actually think that they run the country can they?

  10. don says:

    dear robert;

your theory and prediction is interesting and bold…
    about hillary…
the media is mentioning her as the most popular
    politician..with a 64% approval rating…! that means
    a significant number of
republicans like her..! that is scary…but not as scary as her being president…!

on this i disagree though…she will not run against obama…she is more likely to stay in her present job…
then wait for the next opportunity…

    if obama’s
reelection chances seem hopeless though she could
be chosen by obama as vp and give biden a different important job…this would indeed be proof he is
desperate to seek her help and voter strength…..this seems like the more dangerous possibility for the gop and prudent possibility for the democrats…
if indeed she does run against obama indeed she is totally amoral to grab at the white house and rip the democratic party apart..

  11. Phillip says:

” If Hillary did secure the Democratic nomination, she would probably beat either Perry or Romney in a landslide.”

But Ron Paul would eat her lunch. Paul is the only one the Dem’s can’t beat.

Why? He can calmly and clearly state facts, remaining on target and showing a record more consistent than any other statesman in US history. He knows the history of the Progressive movement, fiat money, and all the other evils crushing down on the American People.

The presidential debates are a whole different game when down to the final 2.

He would turn whatever candidate put forward by the Dem’s into the “Alec Baldwin” of the end the “Team America: World Police” infamy…

    Who else is there?

Perry? Another Texas governor in the pocket of lobbyists (Merck, etc.) Romney? Please… Didn’t we test drive this lemon once already? Waxing it is not going to make it run any better. Romnobomacare…

  12. Duane Quinn says:

    “Left Wing Police State”…
Is a “Right Wing” police state any better?

This is NOW a Police State….Period…
I wouldn’t DARE go to an airport or anywhere else
that deranged, power drunk, moronic “Law Enforcement” officers are there in large concentration…
What is going on at the local and federal level of constitutional abuse is incredible…

    Last Comment: VOTE: “Ron Paul”

And listen to Alex Jones’ radio show here:
    http://www.infowars.com/audiobox.html

    He’s about 85% accurate…
(About 15% pandering to politically correct groups…)
