Losing His Touch?

By Robert Ringer - Friday, September 11, 2009

By Robert Ringer

BHO’s umpteenth campaign speech (since he’s been in office!) Wednesday night — this time about government-run healthcare (disguised as everything but government-run) was encouraging. I say encouraging, because I still have a concern that he is such a skilled dispenser of falsehoods that he will always find the words to pull yet another deceitful rabbit out of his duplicitous hat.

On top of BHO’s remarkable skill for transforming fiction into fact, one can easily become paranoid not only by the media’s incessantly cheering him on, but by their refusal to report on negative  news about him. It’s scary to think about, but if a person got his news solely from ABC, CBS, NBC, The New York Times, and/or The Washington Post, he would have no idea that BHO had appointed a self-avowed communist to rule over green-related issues. (“Green-related issues” meaning just about every aspect of American life.)

So, before Wednesday night’s performance, I kept worrying that BHO would come up with a clever surprise to win back some of the independents who have come to realize that they were duped into voting for him. As it turned out, however, my fears were without merit. In a show of stunning arrogance, BHO apparently believed that he could once again spew out hollow hyperbole and bedazzle us ordinary folk. And when he did say anything even remotely specific, it was … well … as Orrin Hatch might delicately put it, “disingenuous.”

Just a few of the many items that caught my (and most everyone else’s) attention:

  • “I don’t want to put insurance companies out of business. I just want to hold them accountable.” Question: What, exactly, do you mean by “accountable?” Second question: Who are you to hold anyone or any company accountable for anything? Sorry, BHO, but the Constitution says that you are accountable to us.

  • His bold but embarrassing statement that his plan won’t increase the deficit. He’s going to pay for all the additional healthcare simply by eliminating fraud and waste. You do know how good government is at controlling fraud and waste, don’t you? How does it feel to know that the president of the United States thinks you’re an ignoramus?

  • His claim that government health insurance won’t cover abortions or illegal aliens. Sounds nice, but why, then, does he refuse to ask Congress to add an amendment to its bill that makes this claim crystal clear? Kind of analogous to refusing to make the original of your birth certificate available to the whole world while your minions are insisting that it’s absurd to insinuate that the prez is not a legal citizen of the U.S. I never did quite understand that one, but it’s probably just me.

  • His gratuitous mention of tort reform was vintage BHO – no details, no plan, no promise. If anyone wants to wager on this one, I’m available to cover your bet.

  • Finally, the nasty (real) side of the Duplicitous Despot came out. After numerous admonishments to Republicans for daring to question his plans, he threatened them with: “If you misrepresent what is in this plan, we will call you out.” In other words, keep your mouths shut unless you want to be labeled an uncooperative troublemaker.

In short, my worries were for naught, because BHO’s speech was an embarrassing bust. I believe it’s now safe to say that the emperor has no clothes. BHO is, in fact, losing his touch. I think it’s called “overexposure.”

In any event, the healthcare debate is nothing more than a distraction. Some form of healthcare will probably get finagled through the House and Senate, with Democratic favorites such as Richard Lugar, Orrin Hatch, John McCain, and Lindsay Graham all voting for it. I will say it yet again: Weak-kneed, philosophically confused Republicans are the real problem.

The single biggest threat to Americans is not healthcare. What we should be worrying about is a well-planned progressive “crisis” that will leave BHO “no choice” but to declare a state of emergency. As I have previously written, the Dems know they are going down in flames in 2010, so the only way they can prevent that from happening is to suspend elections.

I won’t make a flat-out prediction that it’s going to happen, because I’m hoping it won’t. But it’s something that all Americans should be prepared for, so if and when it does happen, they won’t be fooled into welcoming a newer, slimmer version of Mussolini establishing a “temporary” dictatorship.

Most Americans do not realize that just ten years after the Constitution went into effect, Congress, under President John Adams, passed the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798, which made it a crime for anyone to criticize the government “through writing or any other shape, form, or fashion.”

The “crisis” that brought about this tyranny was the Republicans voicing their disapproval of the Federalists’ support for the French Revolution. It was, of course, in direct violation of the Bill of Rights, which clearly states, in the First Amendment, that “Congress shall make no law … abridging freedom of speech, or of the press.”

More than a hundred years later, at the urging of President Woodrow Wilson, Congress passed the Sedition Act of 1918, which was an amendment to the Espionage Act of 1917. The act made it a crime for Americans to “willfully utter, print, write, or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language about the form of government of the United States, or the Constitution of the United States, or the military or naval forces of the United States.”

Today, there are many more excuses for Congress or the president to declare a “state of emergency” — ranging from an H1N1 virus epidemic to a suicide bomber blowing himself up at a shopping mall in St. Louis.

Or it could simply stem from a crisis in the Middle East. (Never mind the fact that the Middle East is in a perpetual state of crisis!) Israel is likely to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities in the next six months, which could give those brave Hamas fighters another reason to fire rockets into Israel and hide in civilian homes.

Regardless of its nature, should a perceived crisis occur, people will be urged to “come together and support the president.” Which is why the healthcare debate is but a distraction from the real issue: our loss of liberty. Little by little, those reach-across-the-aisle Republicans will allow government-controlled healthcare to become the nightmare that progressives will use to reduce liberty to the status of an anachronism.

I said that the real issue is a loss of liberty, but what I should have said was that the real crisis is a loss of liberty. If the focus were on liberty, sleepwalking voters would realize that the government has no right to be involved in healthcare in any way whatsoever, just as it has no right to be involved in anything that is not specifically spelled out in the Constitution.

Keep your eye on the liberty ball, not on the results of our loss of liberty. Liberty trumps all of the progressives’ phony unconstitutional arguments. When educating others, stay focused on liberty — because all other objectives are secondary.

Mr Ringer I have been following you for many years and enjoying your articles very much. I am not going to get into debates political. I have just been an interested observer that does not sit on one side or the other.I do see both sides as this is necessary to any good decision. I do agree on many issues {truth be told most} Ever since the elections in your country your tone has become increasingly obsessive. I think you sir are the one losing touch. We all need to examine our lives and give serious consideration to other points of view and I do not read this in your articles anymore. Perhaps you need a vacation.

Obama’s most interesting claim about the public health insurance option is how it will provide “competition” to private companies in order to keep prices lower. I would like to know how private companies could ever compete with the government option. Private companies, by nature, only exist to make a profit. A government-run health care system, on the other hand, would not be trying to make a profit, but only to cover their operating costs. For that reason, the government-run prices would always be lower than the private companies’ prices, because the government would not have to worry about being profitable and being held accountable by investors. Eventually, the public option would force the private companies out of business because they would not be able to field profitably competitive prices. And then, the public option would be the ONLY option, leaving us with a completely government-run health care system. Of course, this is the outcome that Obama wants. In the beginning, he will make it appear as if he gave the private companies a chance to compete. But, it will be a totally unfair contest, one the private companies are destined to lose.

How our president is able to pull the wool over so many eyes has frightened me for a long while. His speech on Wednesday was shallow and disjointed, just like many of the other speeches he gives. Yet the CNNs of the world will tell their audiences that it was brilliant, just like his smile and his jumpshot. Then, the CNNites will tell their friends…and so on…and so on. I hope that hundreds of thousands of people jam the mall in DC this weekend. Maybe the sight of innumerable citizens at the gates will wake up the sleeping Republicans in Congress, and start to turn the tide. If not, then the tide will become a tsunami, and our LIBERTY, guaranteed by our Constitution will erode to the point of now return.

  4. Well, what do you expect from an originally Chicago based politician, other than Chicago style politics. BHO just happens to be one of their more polished ones.

  5. Reality seeker says:

I couldn’t agree more with Mr. Ringer about how serious a declaration of “emergency” would be for America. Declaring a state of emergency will be tantamount to declaring war on all those who believe in individual rights. It would be the first step in the final push for a socialist dictatorship.

The future of America is not to difficult to foresee. One likely scenario is: 1) Out of control deficit spending will lead to the largest financial crisis in world history. 2) The catastrophic crisis will lead to a complete collapse of both the private and public sectors. 3) The collapse will then lead directly to violence, riots, and other forms of civil unrest. 4) The civil unrest will be used to justify the federal government’s declaration of a state of emergency. 5) The state of emergency will be used to confiscate gold, silver, land, guns, and all other hard assets. 6) Those in power, who now have the gold and the guns, will then have the means to dictate what will happen next……………

The only thing that will stop the socialists from seizing power is a successful revolution that prevents them from doing so. And make no mistake; a revolution is what is waiting at the end of the road. It may take some time before the corrupt system totally collapses and the revolution occurs—corrupt systems are far more durable than most people believe(People like Mr. Glen Beck who just now seems to be discovering that America is a cesspool of corruption)— but in the end western civilization will undergo a great collapse that will sweep aside the Great Depression as the most significant event in economic history. This collapse will include a terrifying hyperinflation that will bewilder, and eventually inflame, the masses. Once the masses are sufficiently inflamed with anger, then there is going to be some real violence and bloodshed…..and a real state of emergency.

As an aside: the 9/12 people are well intentioned but uninformed if they think that they are making some kind of history. When momentous history is made, it does not need to attach itself to something in the past— such as 9/11. Momentous events stand alone like pillars of history. The coming events will be history makers that will be like historical giants standing alone by themselves.

9/12ers are a lightweight movement that may or may not be part of the heavyweight revolutionary-movement and the figures that will lead it; the ones that will stand up to fight just before, during, and after a state of emergency is declared.

  6. SoundsGr8toMe says:

Dr. Sam Vaknin is an Israeli psychologist. Interesting view on our
new president. Dr. Vaknin has written extensively about narcissism.

Dr. Vaknin States “I must confess I was impressed by Sen.Barack
Obama from the first time I saw him. At first I was excited to see
a black candidate. He looked youthful, spoke well, appeared to be
confident – a wholesome presidential package. I was put off
soon, not just because of his shallowness but also because there was
an air of haughtiness in his demeanor that was unsettling. His posture and
his body language were louder than his empty words. Obama’s
speeches are unlike any political speech we have heard in American
history. Never a politician in this land had such quasi “religious”
    impact on so many people.

The fact that Obama is a total incognito with zero accomplishment,
makes this inexplicable infatuation alarming. Obama is not an
ordinary man. He is not a genius. In fact he is quite ignorant on
    most important subjects.”

    Barack Obama is a narcissist.

Dr. Sam Vaknin, the author of the Malignant Self Love believes
“Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist.” Vaknin is a world
authority on narcissism. He understands narcissism and describes
the inner mind of a narcissist like no other person. When he talks
about narcissism everyone listens. Vaknin says that Obama’s
language, posture and demeanor, and the testimonies of his
closest, dearest friends suggest that the Senator is either a
narcissist or he may have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).

Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves. Jim
Jones, the charismatic leader of People’s Temple , the man who led over 900 of his followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own children was also a narcissist. David Koresh, Charles Manson,
Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Stalin, Saddam, Mao,Kim Jong Ill and
Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our time. All
these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers. They created a
personality cult around themselves and with their blazing speeches elevated their admirers, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life. They gave them hope! They promised
them the moon, but alas, invariably they brought them to their doom.

When you are a victim of a cult of personality, you don’t know it
until it is too late. One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse.

“Obama’s early life was decidedly chaotic and replete with
traumatic and mentally bruising dislocations,”says Vaknin. “Mixed-
race marriages were even less common then. His parents went through
a divorce when he was an infant (two years old). Obama saw his
father only once again, before he died in a car accident. Then his
mother re-married and Obama had to relocate to Indonesia , a foreign
land with a radically foreign culture, to be raised by a step-
father. At the age of ten, he was whisked off to live with his
maternal (white)grandparents. He saw his mother only
intermittently in the following few years and then she vanished
from his life in 1979. She died of cancer in 1995.”

One must never underestimate the manipulative genius of pathological
narcissists. They project such an imposing personality that it
overwhelms those around them. Charmed by the charisma of the
narcissist, people become like clay in his hands. They cheerfully
do his bidding and delight to be at his service. The narcissist
shapes the world around himself and reduces others in his own
inverted image. He creates a cult of personality. His admirers
become his co-dependents. Narcissists have no interest in things
that do not help them to reach their personal objective. They are
focused on one thing alone and that is power. All other issues
are meaningless to them and they do not want to waste their precious
time on trivialities.. Anything that does not help them is beneath them and
    do not deserve their attention.

If an issue raised in the Senate does not help Obama in one way or
another, he has no interest in it. The “present” vote is a safe
vote. No one can criticize him if things go wrong. Those issues
are unworthy by their very nature because they are not about him.

Obama’s election as the first black president of the Harvard Law
Review led to a contract and advance to write a book about race relations.
The University of Chicago Law School provided him a lot longer than
expected and at the end it evolved into, guess what? His own
autobiography! Instead of writing a scholarly paper focusing on
race relations, for which he had been paid, Obama could not resist
writing about his most sublime self. He entitled the book Dreams
    from My Father.

Not surprisingly, Adolph Hitler also wrote his own autobiography
when he was still a nobody. So did Stalin. For a narcissist no
subject is as important as his own self. Why would he waste his
precious time and genius writing about insignificant things when he
can write about such an august being as himself?

Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless. As the norm, they
lack conscience. This is evident from Obama’s lack of interest in
his own brother who lives on only one dollar per month.
A man who lives in luxury, who takes a private jet to
vacation in Hawaii , and who has raised nearly half a billion dollars
for his campaign (something unprecedented in history) has no
interest in the plight of his own brother. Why? Because, his
brother cannot be used for his ascent to power. A narcissist
cares for no one but himself.

This election is like no other in the history of America . The issues
are insignificant compared to what is at stake. What can be more
dangerous than having a man bereft of conscience, a serial liar,
and one who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality as the
    leader of the free world?

I hate to sound alarmist, but one is a fool if one is not alarmed.
Many politicians are narcissists. They pose no threat to others…
They are simply self serving and selfish.
Obama evidences symptoms of pathological narcissism, which is
different from the run-of-the-mill narcissism of a Richard Nixon or
a Bill Clinton for example. To him reality and fantasy are
    intertwined.

This is a mental health issue, not just a character flaw.
Pathological narcissists are dangerous because they look normal and
even intelligent. It is this disguise that makes them treacherous.
Today the Democrats have placed all their hopes in Obama. But this
man could put an end to their party. The great majority of
blacks have also decided to vote for Obama. Only a fool does not
know that their support for him is racially driven. This is
    racism, pure and simple.

The downside of this is that if Obama turns out to be the disaster I
predict, he will cause widespread resentment among the whites. The
blacks are unlikely to give up their support of their man. Cultic
mentality is pernicious and unrelenting. They will dig their
heads deeper in the sand and blame Obama’s detractors of racism.
This will cause a backlash among the whites. The white
supremacists will take advantage of the discontent and they will
receive widespread support. I predict that in less than four
years, racial tensions will increase to levels never seen since the
    turbulent 1960′s..

Obama will set the clock back decades… America is the bastion of
freedom. The peace of the world depends on the strength of America ,
and its weakness translates into the triumph of terrorism and
victory of rogue nations. It is no wonder that Ahmadinejad, Hugo
Chavez, the Castrists, the Hezbollah, the Hamas, the lawyers of the
Guantanamo terrorists and virtually all sworn enemies of America
are so thrilled by the prospect of their man in the White House.

America is on the verge of destruction. There is no insanity
greater than electing a pathological narcissist as president.

Regardless if they haven’t all happened, that doesn’t change the fact that they are a REAL and PRESENT DANGER!

Keep up the awesome articles! You are a fairminded INDIVIDUAL as we all should be!
