Ladies and gentlemen, we have sold out. We have sold our souls to the devil … and the devil is big government. Obama doesn’t want to help you – he wants you to desperately crave the government’s help.
He wants you to feel hopeless, helpless, aimless, and clueless, and thereby dependent on government to survive. He wants to slip socialism by you and destroy capitalism while we’re in crisis – while you’re scared and weak – and he hopes you won’t even notice. Not as long as he sends you a check, takes over your bank, protects your mortgage (even if he has to ask government to break the legal contract), educates your children at government-run schools, and gives you a job.
And once his plan is complete, he’ll own you and your vote for life. But look at the price you’ll pay. Every aspect of your life will be dominated and determined by Big Brother.
Author Ayn Rand predicted it all many decades ago in The Nature of Government:
“We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force.”
Give Obama credit for the deception. His brilliant team of handlers and publicists show the mainstream media images of his wonderful family … and they have him quote the Founding Fathers … and talk about choosing a new church for his family. He talks about tax cuts as a big part of his stimulus package, never mentioning that the cuts don’t go to the people who actually pay most of the taxes.
And while these nice images and perfectly orchestrated sound bites play in the media, Obama is busy destroying capitalism … stomping on the Constitution … and re-distributing the wealth. Karl Marx could not have come up with a more effective plan.
This is a brutal, calculating, manipulative, vicious coup – a takeover of the capitalist system and a highjacking of the electorate through bribery – under the stress of crisis. This is about turning the whole country into one big Chicago … controlled by big unions, teachers’ unions, environmental lobbyists who want to tax you to death to prevent a global warming disaster that hasn’t been proven to exist. (We are more likely to be experiencing “global cooling.”)
But no matter … Big Brother is in control and taking action on your behalf – keeping you safe and employed and protecting you from global warming doom and gloom. Remember, if draconian global warming rules, the resulting regulations and taxes will destroy millions of private-sector jobs … all the better for the Obama agenda. Obama will create millions of government jobs to replace them – making big government even more powerful and beloved.
All of these radical liberal groups are out to destroy capitalism simply because they are no good at being capitalists. They’ve failed in the current system, so their goal is to tear it down and create a new economic system (or “world order”) where they can succeed … where they will be in control and make the rules. By applying the right pressure – i.e., the bribe of trillion-dollar government bailouts and programs up for grabs – they’ve even gotten big business to go along with their plan.
This, my friends, is the Socialist Utopia … the liberal version of the “Stepford Wives.” And it took the perfect boob to open the door – George W. Bush, the compassionate conservative who poisoned the Republican brand, caused conservatives to hide in embarrassment and shame, and allowed Obama to do all this because of his incompetence, arrogance, reckless disregard for excessive spending, and record-setting expansion of government.
Now Obama is here to “rescue” us. Not that he’s ever been in business … not that he’s ever taken an economics class … not that he’s ever created a job. But simply because Obama is the Anti-Bush, he now commands the American economy and the free world.
In response, we are all stepping off the cliff like lemmings … following a Pied Piper … falling to our deaths … destroying capitalism … giving up our freedoms … sacrificing our children’s future … wrecking our economy … punishing taxpayers … and rewarding those who failed in the capitalist system (and just happen to support Obama).
Historian and political statesmen Alexis de Tocqueville’s words have finally come true:
“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”
Some of us can see what is happening. Some of us are willing to stand up to the bullies. Some of us are willing to support capitalism. Some of us are willing to lead the loyal opposition. The ANTI-Obama.

Yes Mr. Root we are practicing socialism at the cost of capitalism. We have been sold out little by little for decades. True capitalism, if it has ever existed, died a long, long time ago. I’m not sure how you can justify blaming Obama, who has been in office for only 15 days, for all the problems you perceive and project into the future.
Quit your whining and make some useful suggestions that would make this a better country to live in for people, not just for businesses and the very wealthiest Americans.

We are practicing corporate Socialism. The cost to us taxpayers for this corporate socialism dwarfs all the government programs that actually benefit people.
Exxon/Mobil after making more profits last year than any company in recorded history is receiving subsidies, corporate welfare, from us taxpayers.
The list of corporate welfare recipients is way too long for this response.
The Bush bailout is giving our money to big banks, big insurance, big auto manufacturers and other corporations deemed too big to fail.
This is not capitalism. In capitalism if your business succeeds you get to keep the profits, and if it fails you take the losses.
We are currently socializing the losses. Us taxpayers are taking the losses. Yet the corporate executives get to keep the massive bonuses, profits and salaries they were paid while running their businesses into the ground.
THIS IS NOT CAPITALISM!

Obama & company do not want strong, self reliant citizens – they want compliant sheep they can bend to their will – and tax as needed to support their agenda.

I once tried to emails your link to a couple of my conservative friends, but they were too young to know RR and too confused to click the link I sent them.
Maybe you can create some snippets and appropriate articles for RR beginner, the politically uncertain, those who were too young to know libertarians but have common sense to understand once they hear the overall message.
Obama is doing exactly what he is supposed to do as the new spokesperson for the American power elite, or at least the elite who bought him. He is acting out his part on the biggest power stage in history and delivering a remarkable performance. He is rehearsing his lines so that he comes across as, well, believable (more so than the last guy). And he is most certainly remembering who his generous donors are.
And guess what? The power elite care about power. They don’t care about socialism. They don’t care about capitalism. They care about what’s appropriate for the power they seek. If that means they put their money behind Obama, so be it. If that means they put their money behind two thirds of the presidential candidates of this past election (sad but true), regardless of party affiliation, so be it.
But let’s call a spade a spade and realize that we’re rearranging the table doilies on the deck of the Titanic when we decry that Obama is masterfully destroying capitalism to usher in his socialist utopia. He is simply picking up the baton and running in a relay race to the bottom. His reward is probably massive insulation from what the rest of us are likely to receive as a result of his tenure, and power. But Obama, still, is simply doing what Dubya did before him, what Slick Willie did before him, and what Herb Walk did before him: what they are told, aaaand some of what they want.
But Barack is still a middleman, hired to manage the masses’ perception of the world they really live in. Sure, he deserves blame for his part in all this mess (and its still early in the game). but it would be folly to treat Obama like a master link when he is but a replaceable cog in the elitist machinery, performing the function that “Change” is designed to: enhance their power over the rest of us.
Yea, go get them Mr. Root. Screw the homeless and all those being foreclosed on, to hell with the jobless, forget our retired elders, abandon everyone who can’t afford to get sick. They are all just hopeless, helpless, aimless, and clueless; they are scared and weak.
Let the capitalists eat them alive. They are mere fodder for the machine of commerce. Use them up and then throw them away.
They are no good at being capitalists. They’ve failed in the current system. They are all failures and deserve to suffer the consequences of their failure.
Just like Wall Street, Big Banks and the auto industry.

Beware of Big Brother. I was in court recently and observed one person being fined $90 because his grass was 6 inches long instead of the government proscribed 4 inch maximum. Another was fined $90 for putting their garbage out on the wrong day. I just read about an elderly woman in California who was fined $114 for crossing the street too slowly.
What part of our lives doesn’t the government control already?

You may be forgetting that those citizens who pay most of the taxes have most of the money. 90% of Americans earn less than $200,000 a year. That bottom 90% now pays a larger percentage of their income in taxes than the top 10%. You know, the ones that have 90% of all the money. Bush gave them a tax cut. How is that working out?
Maybe it is time to try something else.

An extreme case where this is happening, or at least his socialist, immoral leader, is trying to make a reality, is Venezuela.
This man, Hugo Chávez, has pushed a law initiative where parents, natural parents to a child, will have Parental Rights only for the first three years of the child.
When the child becomes three years old, he/she is now property of the state!
Politicians, tyrants, dictators… any name you pick for those in power always surprises us with measures we could not even think of.
And not because they have a better imagination, but because while we are busy making a living, they spend their time figuring ways to control the people.
Never, ever, a human being is going to do something for the benefit of other without calculating first a bigger reward for himself.
Assuming this as truth, socialism is then a big lie.
And it’s interesting how those who sits in political power use socialism as their alibi to justify their immoral actions in the name of “The People”

I cannot agree more with you.
This is a reality we -entrepreneurs and business people- who are not employed, neither collect a check from any government program, know too well.
Robert, I agree that unfortunately the majority voted B. Obama in and his goal is to eliminate Capitalism, and bring about Socialism. But for those that feel the same way you do, WHAT can we do about it? Most of us feel that we are unable to make a difference. We’re frustrated, because we did and are doing what we need to do to cut a better life. Unfortunately, there are MORE lazy people out there, wanting a hand out. How can we change the majority of the people’s frame of mind, when you have Congress, the President, governmental programs, and even parents encouraging this unproductive behavior and attitude?
