Revolution, Part II

As I watched Barack Obama do his Jesus imitations in Tampa and Elkhart, I recalled something Jonah Goldberg wrote in his book Liberal Fascism. If you have a pulse and have not yet sipped the Obama-Aid, this should get your attention:
Today the liberal left’s version of the 1960s makes about as much sense as it does to remember Hitler as the “man of peace” described by Neville Chamberlain. In its passion and pursuits, the New Left was little more than an Americanized updating of what we’ve come to call the European Old Right. From Easy Rider to JFK, Hollywood has been telling us that if only the forces of reaction hadn’t killed their Horst Wessels, we would today be living in a better, more just, and more open-minded country. [RJR note: Horst Wessels was a ruthless young leader in the Nazi movement who was murdered at the age of twenty-two and subsequently immortalized by the Nazis.] And if only we could rekindle the hope and ambition of those early radicals, “what might have been” will turn into “what could still be.” This is the vital lie of the left. Western civilization was saved when the barbarians were defeated, at least temporarily, in the 1970s. We should be not only grateful for our slender victory but vigilant in securing it for posterity.
Goldberg goes on to disrobe all the ugly truths about the radical left-wing movement of the 1960s. The talk was all about peace and love, but the aim was power-power that would be achieved through revolution, preferably violent revolution.
The truth about the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society), the hippies, and the New Left can be found in the words of Napoleon Bonaparte 150 years earlier when he said of the French Revolution: “Vanity made the revolution; liberty was only a pretext.”
Now, the hippies live on in the form of the Obamies. Overthrowing capitalism and individual sovereignty-and achieving absolute power in the process-is their aim. It is this that the media punditistas cannot seem to grasp. They naively refuse to believe that BHO’s intentions are to destroy the America that his sweetheart of a wife says she was never proud of before her sly-tongued hubby ran for president.
Glenn Beck says that he believes we are headed for a revolution in this country (i.e., a revolution by liberty revolutionaries trying to overthrow the Marxist barbarians who are now in the driver’s seat). And he could be right. But, if so, the revolution will have to come soon, because time is on the side of the Obamacrats.
There are many reasons for this, but two are of special importance. First, with each passing month, they will be flooding the country with more and more new Obamacratic voters from Mexico. Second, every paper-money handout is virtually certain to secure the votes of those who are on the receiving end of the largesse.
Over time, ever-increasing numbers of the “centrists” who drank the Obama-Aid that flowed so freely during the campaign or, at the very least, voted for the lesser of two evils, will come to realize that they were snookered. But if a dictatorship is already in place, it will be too late.
Remember, Jonah Goldberg said that our 1970s victory over the barbarians was a slender one, and that we should be “vigilant in securing it for posterity.” Because the war between fascists and liberty lovers is never-ending, the cost of freedom is eternal vigilance.
I always believed that the barbarians were not at the gates but inside the gates. Norman Thomas, six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America, who died in 1968, made that pretty clear when he said, “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened.”
Then, as now, Americans should have listened to, and taken seriously, what the enemy was saying. No matter the disguise, if it walks like a barbarian and talks like a barbarian, you should assume it’s a barbarian.

David Letterman announced a new sement last night that would lampoon Bill and Hillary (It is replacing his “great moments in Presidential Speeched where he shows two famous speeches (Usually FDR’s “The only Thing we have to Fear”, JFK’s “Ask Not what your Country can do for you” or Reagin;s “Tear Down that Wall” speech Clips) and follows it with the latest George W screw up – Very Funny Stuff.
His Reason for attacking HillBilly is “We can’t find anything to say about the other one”
Although it was kind of funny that The #1 thing in the Top 10 list (also about Hilary’s visit to the Far East and What whe wanted to accomplish) was “Get a carton of Duty Free Smokes for Obama.
Not that I am advocating that the oteher Evil one to have won last november, but you would thank that a front page pic of Obama toking on a Marlboro could have had an affect on the election Where were the photogs on that one??????
Obama certainly has the majority of unwashed masses here won over. As we watch all the governors and big city mayors clamkering over each other for Washington Handouts.
Will someone polease enlighten the world as to why Obama’s ridiculous $250 Billion Tree-hugger-Windmill-power Environmental Package got bundled into the Stimulus and believed by ANYBODY as something that will help anything????
Robert ended his article with this statement “Then, as now, Americans should have listened to, and taken seriously, what the enemy was saying. No matter the disguise, if it walks like a barbarian and talks like a barbarian, you should assume it’s a barbarian.”
I think we have to accept the sad fact that most Americans no longer believe that A=A. They are so caught up in their world of illusion that they believe that A equals anything their corrupted hearts desire.
Of course, politicians have never accepted that A=A. Because of this tragic fact, politicians and citizens alike can continue to play their games of make-believe. Happily or unhappily depending on how you look at it—justice will prevail. In the end, the piper extracts payment from all the self-deluded—the ones who sold their souls for short-term benefits.

I find it incredible that so few people are actually aware of the danger that we as a nation are in and that so many people still go on with their daily lives as if it’s “business as usual”. Hindsight is 20/20 but wisdom is recognizing analogies from the past and connecting the fact that history does indeed repeating itself with a similar cast of characters, playing similar roles, and living under circumstances that should alert the majority of people that this “play” has been performed before and with extremely disastrous results for the performers as well as the general audience.
The only conclusion that I can come up with is that most people have, in a metaphorical way, fallen asleep and are now in a hypnotic trance of denial of stark reality right before their eyes, or worse yet, myopic ignorance of precedence.
The following quote from ancient times comes to mind…
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”
Marcus Tullius Cicero
Robert is so correct as regards the “peace and love” phony front adopted by subversive Leftists in the 60′s. Remember “Black Power?” That was the one HONEST slogan out there. It NEVER was about “Black Equality,” it was always about a black takeover of this country. Too bad for them the little brown people to the south always win these demographic battles of reproduction and population-flooding.
See, the blacks are just starting to realize that while they have overcome the whites, politically, if not completely socially, as yet, their real enemy in the coming decades struggle for dominance is the Hispanic tidal wave they cannot forestall or handle. My sympathies, Jessie. Your real war has just begin. Surely even you must be tired of it all, by now.
One thing I have never understood is the appeal of socialism. To the best of my knowledge, throughout history, the more a country was capitalistic the more wealth it accrued. (And probably every educated person suspects this.) Thus the better life the market oriented country offers its citizens. Robert explains a good deal of human behavior as being driven by GAVEC and I would agree. I am sure that to a degree all those elements are in me but having these character flaws doesn’t induce me, even slightly, to want to destroy my country. My Mother used to describe such behavior as, “cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face”. Do you think it is a failure to be happy oneself so that one cannot allow anyone else to be happy either?
