The Truth About the Obama Agenda, Part I

By Robert Ringer - Saturday, January 31, 2009

By Wayne Allen Root

I have been asked by radio talk show hosts across the country to talk about President Obama’s possible – if not probable — nationalization of the banking system. But there’s more to the story than just banks.

This issue ties in with every aspect of the Obama Socialist Agenda — bailouts, handouts, economic stimulus packages, giving too much power to the Federal Reserve … and let’s not forget tax cuts to people who don’t pay taxes.

The Obama agenda isn’t about saving the American economy. Rather, it is about putting Big Brother in control of our lives. It’s about the Nanny State — big government intrusion into every aspect of our lives in order to “protect” us. It’s about destroying capitalism and tearing down the U.S. economy to build a new economic system based on rewarding the “right kind” of Americans — those who support Obama and his agenda.

It’s about bribery. Obama is buying votes for a generation, thereby guaranteeing that liberal big government’s tax-and-spend, big-union, radical-environmental agenda controls every aspect of our lives for decades to come.

It’s about socialism … it’s about “group think” … it’s about the collective good of society instead of the good of the individual. It’s about rewarding the non-productive members of society (Obama’s voters) and punishing the group that creates the jobs, owns the businesses, owns the property, and pays the taxes. Just as he told “Joe the Plumber” during the presidential campaign, Obama wants to punish this group because these Americans tend to vote conservative.

It’s about making the Federal Reserve more powerful so it can print money endlessly to pay for Obama’s reckless spending, even if inflation rises to double-digits and the value of the dollar descends toward zero. It’s about building an economy that rewards Obama’s supporters: government employee unions, teachers’ unions, auto unions, lawyers’ unions (otherwise known as The Bar Association), lobbyists, and environmentalists.

And, of course, the biggest goal of all … it’s about controlling the banks that will decide what people and what projects get funding for the next four or eight years of an Obama administration.

This is the biggest, most manipulative VOTE-BUYING SCHEME in political history. Just as the New Deal cemented Democratic control of national politics for a half century, this Obama agenda is The New Deal II — on steroids!

Think long, hard, and deeply about what caused this economic tsunami: Too much government spending … too many handouts … too much wasted spending on failing public schools (orchestrated by greedy teachers’ unions) … too many government employees with bloated salaries, pensions, and health benefits … too much deficit … too much debt … too many blank-check promises by government, paid for by taxpayers.

Too many government rules that forced banks to loan billions to low-income Americans who couldn’t and shouldn’t have qualified for mortgages … all in the name of equality and “fairness.”

Government bureaucrats like Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and Chuck Schumer, with oversight over the likes of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Wall Street, Bernie Madoff, and the banking system, were the biggest beneficiaries of contributions from those very entities.

And now think of what Obama’s solution really consists of: MORE of all of the above. He proposes far more spending to get us out of bankruptcy. He proposes giving state and local governments billions of dollars to reward them for spending far too much — virtually guaranteeing they’ll do it again.

He wants to make government far more important. He wants to give more power to Barney Frank and his friends — friends like Congressman Charles Rangel, who oversees tax policy but conveniently “forgot” to pay his own taxes. Or new Treasury Secretary Tim Geitner, who creates tax policy but conveniently “forgot” to pay his own Social Security taxes.

He wants to create more regulations, even though government regulations were a major contributor to the current crisis (and certainly didn’t prevent it). How could more of the things that caused this mess possibly be the solution?

Think about the beneficiaries of every aspect of this plan. The economic stimulus package is about buying the votes of the 40 percent of Americans who will get a tax-cut check even though they didn’t pay any taxes in the first place. Obama is betting that they will gladly vote Democratic for many years to come. Wouldn’t you be grateful and loyal if someone gave you a check for doing nothing?

It’s about giving away $200 billion to state and local governments to lock up the votes of government employee union members for a generation. It’s a way of making certain that government employees not only keep their jobs but get pay raises, while the rest of us in the private sector struggle to survive in a depression.

It’s about handing out tens of billions of dollars to a failing education system
owned by teachers’ unions that couldn’t care less about the kids … and prove it every day with lower test scores and higher dropout rates. Why reward failure? To buy the votes of millions of teachers’ union members for a generation, that’s why!

It’s about giving away billions of dollars to failing auto companies in order to reward the auto unions that supported Obama and buy the votes of auto workers — workers who earn $100,000 (or more) in annual salaries, pensions, and benefits for drilling rivets into the fenders of cars that are so over-priced that no one wants to buy them anymore. But you can bet that Obama will make certain that union contracts are protected — at all costs.

It’s about handing out jobs to construction workers — also union members — in order to guarantee that those millions of workers vote Democratic for a generation. And if they’re not union members, Obama will pass the legislation that bans secret ballots, thus ensuring that every possible worker becomes a union member — by violence or intimidation, if necessary.

Finally, the Obama agenda is about a government takeover of banks so that Big Brother is in control of who gets loans. You can bet that the Obama bureaucrats put in charge of banks will use politics as their guide in making every decision — directing the banks’ money to union members, union-funded projects, environmentally correct projects, politically correct projects, and any projects where Obama’s friends stand to profit.

In Part II of this article, I’ll discuss just how cunningly Obama is going about implementing his insidious agenda.

Next question – is there ANYTHING we can do about it?

By the way, not ALL union men side with Obama… I know a lot of power linemen who voted Republican and who are completely against the bailouts. But of course, power linemen don’t get paid when they’re laid off… they have to work hard for their money. They’re of the opinion that everyone should work for their money.

  2. Hisemiester says:

President Obama through out his campaign told the country what he was going to do. The majority voted for him [To my dismay]. Most did not hear what he said. Most just wanted what they call Change. Now when he is doing exactly, or trying to, people are surprised. There are dark forces behind this man and I do not know whether there is enough people who follow “The Light of the World” to combat his agenda.
You will hear the supporters of this man begun to fall away however those who will keep him in power will stay until the end.

    Wayne,

Like an ice ball that is rapidly gaining speed and growing to monstrous proportions as it barrels down a trillion foot high mountain—our economic situation has been spiraling more and more out of control since 1913—the year special interests created both the Federal Income Tax and The Federal Reserve System. We are apparently at the point of no return. The collapse of our economic system is inevitable.

I believe the only hope resides in the lone individual—the lone individual who transforms himself mentally and spiritually. This individual has a firm understanding of the laws of praxeology (human action) and is completely in tune with the laws of the universe. He knows who he (she) is and is one with all there is.

Out of the ashes of destruction and despair, enough of these individuals will rise up and usher in the New Age of Enlightenment. Unhampered capitalism and New Age spirituality reign supreme in the minds and spirits of the most men and women and therefore these sublime ways of life reign supreme on earth.

Amen. Of course we tried telling people this when he was a presidential “Who’s he?”. Too bad this article wasn’t written while McCain or Ron Paul were still running… This is what happens when our nation’s attitude changes from “Give me me liberty or give me death” to “Give me liberty or I’ll at least fight for it” to finally “Give me liberty in the non-English language of my choice because I’m too lazy to work for it and the gov’t has given it to me for so long I’m not about to change now and Obama has promised to give it all to me anyway.”

  6. jimtypes says:

Robert, you make this sound like a total fait accompli for Obama and the democrats – I almost think for a little guy like me with no resources that the best thing I can do is actually support Obama. How does anyone really stand against this or is there so much more to this (do you predict this to fall of its own weight- then what???)in Part 2?

  7. Moose says:

I have to question why this article is so anti-Obama? I’m no Lib, but all this says is Obama this, Obama that, ad infinitum. Need I remind everyone that although it’s been in the making for many years, it completely came to a head during the past 8 years – 6 of which the Reps had total control? ‘freedomlost’ says it’s too bad nobody heard this during the election, yet Bush, Paulsen, McCain, et al, all supported the TARP bailout, which gave away 350 billion w/ NO accountability whatsoever! Obama certainly didn’t bring this situation around, so if all we can do is bash… let’s spread the bashing around & maybe offer a few suggestions on a better way to handle it.

  8. johrio says:

You ask us to think about the beneficiaries of whatever recovery plan that makes its way out of the legislative branch of our government. So far none of the current mess can be blamed on Obama. In a turn around from the policies of the previous administration Obama seems to be looking out for the interests of people. All the people, not just the top 1% of the wealthiest and big business.
I ask you to think about the beneficiaries of the recovery plan that has already taken place. So far the big banks, big insurance, big automakers have received the benefits of socialism. Private profits but the public paying for the losses. Not exactly free market capitalism.
You rant about Obama”s plans, yet he hasn’t had a chance to do anything yet. And of course he doesn’t write the laws, that would be the legislative branch of government. All he can do is sign, or not sign, whatever legislation Congress sends him.
If you want to rant against somebody I suggest starting with the boneheads in Congress that are selling out us citizens to the benefit of the top 1% of the wealthiest people and big businesses.

At the same time people, citizens, taxpayers are losing their jobs, their houses, their retirements funds, their investments. Our government was formed to take care of the needs of all the people, not just the top 1% of the wealthiest people and big businesses.
If a business is too big to fail it is too big to exist.

How did our strong and growing economy give way to job uncertainty, debt, bankruptcy, and fear for millions of Americans?
Government policies and spending have reached deep into the wallets of the many to benefit the top 1% of the wealthiest citizens and the businesses they own and profit from.

We have corporate socialism. Big Businesses and the top 1% of the wealthiest have been getting free lunches from the government—from $100 million to Warren Buffett, to $1.3 billion to the owners of the Yankees and Mets. But of course there’s really no such thing as a free lunch. The taxpayer always picks up the bill. Not the top 1% of the wealthiest citizens who have most of the money and can afford to buy accountants, financial advisors and politicians to assure that they pay little or no taxes, but the poor, the middle class, and even the affluent taxpayers.

You say “Finally, the Obama agenda is about a government takeover of banks so that Big Brother is in control of who gets loans.” Maybe you have that opposite of the actual state of things. The government isn’t taking over the banks, the banks have taken over the government. Who do you think has more power, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve or the President? The President appears to be merely a puppet with the Fed and others of that level of power and control pulling his strings. He simply does what he is told. The same Big Brother is in control no matter who sits in the Presidents chair.

With all due respect to MeMeMe

    > this one has the least credibility.

When reading this article, I could not help but to identify everyone of the strategies described here with the political practices in third world countries, Latin America to be more specific.

Those government practices have made a lot of damage to my country over decades. Union leaders are filthy rich out of corruption and supported by those in power because these union leaders control the vote machinery for immoral political parties.

In case you think American people would not fall for this kind of bribery… never underestimate the seduction of getting things “easily”, with no effort. Specially on the desperate side of the population, where they have been educated to think government is the solution for everyone’s personal challenges, like getting a home, health services, etc. Think “Welfare programs.”
It’s also appealing to so-called “intellectuals”, all of them tend to think left; and promoted by showbiz people and most media.

Want more proof that Obama is very likely following this agenda? Here is an interesting fact: Traditional third world lefties, socialist dictators who use USA to blame it for all their country’s problems… they publicly spoke well of Obama! At least, when he was a candidate.

Castro from Cuba and Hugo Chavez from Venezuela both did it; and a well-known, nasty socialist political character in my country did it as well.

That turned on “red lights alarm” on my anti-socialist system.

On the last two decades we have made great economical and political improvements in my country, and spite of all the lefty efforts, we have been voting for “conservatives” and promoting free market practices.

I really hope USA do not follow the path here suggested, because that would be used by the left politicians in my country to push their false agenda.

Agenda only useful for their own, personal project to perpetuate themselves in power.

  10. MeMeMe says:

    Dear marantgal,

I said that the article was the least credible one,
not that it was TOTALLY without credibility.
One example-”Too many government rules that forced
banks to loan billions to low income Americans who
couldn’t and shouldn’t have qualified for
mortgages.” Oh, come on-banks weren’t forced by
government regulations to behave so stupidly. It
was the free-market that ALLOWED them to. Free-market
capitalism does make sense in theory, but it can be scary sometimes in practice. When the country is insane, as it sometimes seems, that freedom is scary.

I couldn’t agree more with the comments contained in this piece. I think it is shameless the way Obama has blatantly set about to absolutely obliterate the principals this country was founded on and sieze control of private sectors for the government. He is a very dangerous man with a downright frightening agenda.

When we stop thinking for ourselves and accept what the media and hollywood is selling we are in huge trouble as a nation. I don’t think that most of the sheep that voted for this maniac even took the time to educate themselves about his policies, they just thought he was the “change” this country needed because that was what the dribble Media was serving this term. Since when does having fewer liberties and less privacy, more government control, insurmountable debt, double digit inflation and higher taxes equal a positive change? Personally, I resent the hell out of the fact that under his new healthcare “reform” my taxes may even fund abortions and I will be forced to pay for the healthcare for someone who is in this country illegally and isn’t paying taxes. Obabma is clearly out to “socialize” this country. I don’t see anything social or even decent about what he is proposing, however.

I think the current population is so concerned with being “politically correct” and that we were so eager to prove that we are not racist that we actually voted for this character because it was trendy rather than examing his qualifications…because if we had we would have clearly seen that he had none…he had never even run a company! Wasn’t anyone listening?

I thank God every day that I do not have children that I am leaving the sad legacy that was once our great country to. I am afraid that the wheels of destruction are already in motion. It will be nothing short of a miracle if our country isn’t destroyed by this power hungry, morally bankrupt, ego maniac.

It’s time to wake up America. Maybe we’ll get it right next time around if it’s not already too late.
